Aug. 10 Builds Jet Model' For $1,000 Dale Hasty, now of Fort Dodge, but a former Algona resident and well known here, is pictured above, standing back of his custom-built automobile, a product which cost him SI.000 in cash and took 1,500 hours to build. Hasty i.s a body and fender man by occupation and he built the car in his spare time. While the vehicle has a little of the "Look from Mars" about it, the glamor buggy is a real auto with .streamlined jet appearance. In the nine months he worked on it. Hasty started with a 1941 frame, used 20 gauge flat sheet metal for the body, molding it into shape himself. He finished it in Kolrl and black and trimmed .In- interior with white plastic. It ha 1 -' two seats in front and floor i'.» :n m back for his two children. The far is not souped up. ami is litjht in weight with plenty of pep on UK. highways.
