Troop 125 is sponsored by St. John's United Church of Christ. Brief Newcomers Club schedules events Forty-one boys from Troop 125 are spending the week at Camp Lowden, Oregon.

Gail Schmig, scoutmaster, Jon Odiorne and Martin Nilsen accompanied the scouts. Thursday night the boys will host Parents Night: Festivities will begin at 7 p.m. with a water show. Five scouts and one adult will be honored later in the evening in a Tap-Out ceremony which will be the first step into the Order of the Arrow, an Mr. and Mrs.

Calvin D. Holt, 1106 S. Fifth DeKalb, announce the engagement of their daughter, Shirley Carolyn Gibson, to SP-4 Howard E. Foshe, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Ronald McDowall, 525 Jackson Genoa. The bride-to-be graduated from DeKalb Senior High School in 1968 and. is employed at Playskool Incorporated, Hampshire. Her fiance attended Genoa -Kingston High School and is serving with the United States Army. Mrs.

Anne Manley, 415 W. Menominee announces the engagement of her daughter, Kay Susan, to Todd Lee Seyller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Seyller, 238 Brookedge Drive, Hampshire. Miss Manley is also the daughter of the late William A.

Manley. The bride-to-be, a Belvidere High School graduate, attended Northern Illinois University at DeKalb and is employed at Eagle Foods. Her fiance graduated from Hampshire High School and Rockford Barber College. He is serving with the United States Army at Fort Polk, La. -J Martha Circle Kingston Martha Circle; met July 24 at the home of Mrs.

Maurice Uplinger with Mrs. Henry Tegtman as hostess. The group will have a bake sale at the Taylor-Marshall farm at the thrashing bee on Aug. 10. The next meeting will be Aug.

21 at the home of Mrs. Uplinger. honorary order of scoutinc. No wedding date has been set. Boys are elected to the Order by Mrs.

Karen Manning, Mrs. Mary Rowinski and Mrs. Walraven. Door prizes were awarded to Mrs. Judy Casey," Mrs.

Michelle Dudley and Mrs. Calvesio. A trip to the Children's Farm in Rockford is planned for Aug; 7, Mrs. Winter, chairman of the event, noted that everyone Is to bring a sack lunch or buy lunch at the concession stand there. Anyone interested in attending should contact Mrs.

Joyce Walraven with Mrs. Pat Calvesio, president, presiding. Mrs. Shirley Smith announced the program for August will be Steve Butler from Illinois Decorator Center in Rockford. A steak fry is planned for the September social.

Mrs. Judy Casey, chairman of Maxwell Street Days, reported that the club's booth was in front of Fabrif ic and that baked goods and popcorn were sold. The meeting was adjourned and Mrs. Judy Winter introduced Mrs. Walraven, who gave a demonstration on cake decorating.

and Mrs. Donald Ekliikd of Belvidere announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Linda Catherine, to Dennis R. Cooney, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Cooney of Phoenix, Arix.

The bride-to-be is a 1969 Belvidere High School graduate, and her fiance, a 1969 graduate of Oconomowoc, High School. The couple will exchange wedding vows on Aug. 13 in Rockton, and after a short wedding trip, will reside in Phoenix. Mi ti rrn rr Leaiches observe 55th anniversary Mr. and Mrs.

Glenn Leaich will observe their 55th wedding anniversary Aug. 4 at their home at 313 E. Perry St. The couple was married Aug. 4, 1917, in Freeport by the late Judge Car-nahan.

The pledge of allegiance was said the roll call was read and seconded by Greg Gliesmann. The committee report was read. Jim Svestka gave a demonstration on photography and a talk on how to make a fuse box. Jim Selick gave a talk on washing your calf. Next meeting is going to be at Greg Gliesmann's.
