New Windsor Group to Recall Pearl Harbor NEW WINDSOR - Mrs. Oliver Monson, first vice president, pre* sided at the meeting of Unit 80 of War Mothers Monday. Mrs. Otto Bengston was hostess at the meeting in the Town Hall. The unit agreed that Mrs. Her- "bert Johnson order 500 poinsettias to be sold on Pearl Har­ bor Day or near that date, plus four sheets of seals. Mrs. Rachel Thomas, chairman of the rehabilitation committee, reported the unit had donated 10 men's white shirts for use by the veterans at Campbell Cottage, East Moline, plus 875 used greeting cards. All members were asked to wear their white dresses to the next meeting Sept. 23. Mrs. Emil Johnson will be hostess at the Avon Auxiliary Plans Project AVON—The September meeting of the Avon Legion Auxiliary was held Monday at the Legion Hall. Reports were given on the food- stand at the fat steer show and poppte sales. Membership dues are now payable and can be sent to Mildred all-day sewing meeting with potluck dinner at her home. Carr, Martha Orwig or Mary Potter. The auxiliary will hold an in* door backyard sale at the Legion Hall in mid-October. The committee will accept anything, such as toys, dishes, furniture and clothing, from anyone interested in donating.
