Pagf D4 Sunday Sept 21 1975 THEFRESNOBEE TV Channel 30 Moves Into New Headquarters On Street KFSN-TV Channel 30 is moving into new headquarters today and a new station manager should be appointed sometime this week to head the CBS affili ate's operation at 1777 St Since it went on the air in 1956 asKFRE-TV Channel 12 the studios have been at 733 St The new facility represents a $15 million investment by New York-based Capital Cities Communications which purchased Channel 30 from Triangle Channel 18 reportedly has had preliminary talks with KFSN officials about such apian The cross-town move will be accomplished with minimal program interruption a spokeswoman said The 11 pm Sunday newscast will not be broadcast she said ies bought the station The appointment is expected within a few days The old studio could become the base of operations for Channel 18 authorized as the area first educational and public television station The Fresno County Board of Education which will operate the station more capability for programing although such changes be made until a new manager is appointed to succeed Philip Beuth who left Channel 30 in August to manage another Capital Cities television station in Buffalo NY Beuth came to Fresno when Capital Cit ate the only separate commercial production studio between Los Angeles and San Francisco Independent control rooms will allow commercial production to go on uninterrupted while normal programming continues The new studios also give Publications Co of Philadelphia in 1970 as part of a $110 million deal involving broadcast properties in several communities KFSN will move nearly $750000 worth of electronic equipment into the new building to go along with a new control unit that allows the station to oper Engineer David Wilkinson checks out video cassette equipment KFSN-TV begins operations today from new studios at 1777 St New Classes Set For Elderly for Older will meet every Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 am and will be taught by former Fresno County Supervisor Joseph Reich This class will deal with political topics of importance to senior citizens Current legislation current events and field trips will be included A lecture and discussion course "World Affairs for Senior which will meet Tuesdays from 1:30 to 3:30 pm at the Fresno Hotel will be concerned with contemporary world events The class will be taught by Fresno City College geography instructor David Hendrickson The Fresno Learning Center is located on the main floor of Masten Towers at the corner of Fresno Street and Broadway Plaza Free parking is available as well as bus sser-vice For furzher information on these or any of the 36 classes offered each week at the Center phone 485-8922 Four new classes designed for senior citizens are being offered at the Fresno Learning Center this fall Weaving classes will meet each Frida'y 9:30 am to noon and from 1 to 3:30 pm They will be taught by Inger Brooks who has taught at Fresno State University and Santa Cruz extension Beginners as well as advanced students will be accepted There is no charge for those 60 years of age or over A new class titled Men will meet each Friday from 9:30 am until noon There will be two instructors Joe Buirch and Herb Kraling Center officials say the class will be offering a variety of crafts interesting to men among which will be glass cutting glass staining woodworking and leatherwork For those interested in what is going on in the world today the Learning Center is offering two special classes Politics VALLEY THEATRES HANFORD Rated Fonda TMRTY MARY CRAZY LARRY" Barry Newman "VANISHING AURORA 2 ROU PKG TOILET TISSUE kf A FLAVORFUL FAMILY FAVORITE!
