Displayed on the flight deck are several examples of historic aircraft, such as the P-2 Lockheed Neptune, the F-ll Grumman Tigercat and the A-4 McDonnell Douglas Skyhawk.

All of the exhibits include sound, light ani film presentations. The museum will be open seven days a week from 10 AM to 8 PM, from June 1 through Sept. 30. The ticket office will dose at 6 PM From Oct 1 through May 31, the museum will be open 10 AM through 7 PM, and the ticket office will dose at 5 PM Visitor rates are $5 for adults, $4 for elderly persons and $2.50 for children. Group rates are $4 for adults and $2 for children 18 years of age or younger in groups of 10 or more.

The museum was bom out of the rusted remains of the U.S.S. Intrepid, one of the most illustrious ships of World War II, operating in the Pacific.

It encompasses 150,000 square feet of the 900-foot-long carrier, which saw 31 years of active service and is now permanently docked at Pier 86 on West 46th Street. Featuring rockets, naval history and examples of aircraft that are a half-century old, the museum is located prion the carriers hangar deck and includes exhibits such as the "United States Navy Hall, which explains the history accomplishments of the American Navy in the 20th Century; "Pioneer Hall, which features examples of both early and modem aircraft; "Technologies Hall, which displays mans ideas Ncviday William J.
