Snftrpftthfttf-lmmtal, Monday, June 9, 1952 Committee Appointed To Study Curfew Law Around 50 law enforcement officers, students, Parent-Teacher Association representatives and county officials met Saturday to discuss the proposed county curfew ordinance. A committee was appointed to study items to be included in the ordinance and make recommendations to the board of supervisors. Supervisor William D. Fusselman was present and said the board is waiting for the recommendations before taking action. The group noted that no mention of curfew is made in the proposed ordinance and is therefore a loitering ordinance.

The committee will study the interpretation of loitering and decide what changes, if any should be made. Members of the committee are Mrs. Samuel Levin, Mrs. John Ehf- en, the Rev. Joseph Easter, Robert Royie, Mrs.

Vera Schultz, the Rev. Thomas Kennedy, Brad Bayliss, Mrs. H. P. Schwertfeger, the Rev.

Charles Shrewsbury, Robert J. Mc- Keay and Mrs. George Alpers. Students on the committee are Dan Caldwell, Sir Francis Drake High school; Zina Craig, San Rafael High; John Ryan, Marin Catholic; Robert Sapp, Tamalpais; Nancy Purdy, College of Marin; and Richard Simondi, High. Justice Carter Wed Two Months Ago, His Son Reveals REDDING Jesse W.

Carter of the California Supreme court was married two months ago in Del Norte county, his son reported today. Harlan Carter, athletic coach at Shasta Union High school here, identified the bride as Jean Woodward, a member of the California State bar and an employe of the Supreme aourt. Carter, whose home is in San Antelmo, has been married twice previously, his son said. It was the second marriage for his bride. The Jurist was to hold court in Los Angeles today.

Gardiner Riede, Attorneys Success Claimed For '49 Fiesta The Larkspur-Corte Madera Fiesta held weekend, was wonderful success, escpeciaily considering weather Murray Fox general chairman, said today. The fashion show, held Thursday, opening day of the fiesta, was termed by several present as of most beautiful and best organized ever held in Fox reported. It was presented by department store under the of Irving Chapman, merchandising manager. The fiesta was sponsored by the Larkspur and Corte Madera Lions clubs. share of the receipts will go toward a recreation program and Corte receipts will go toward the recreation building fund.

Woman Claims Two Soldiers Attacked Her Two Fort Barry servicemen were arrested and taken to Marin county Jail early today after a San Francisco woman accused them of criminally attacking her in an isolated section of the county. The soldiers, Pfc. Jack Litteral, 23. and Pfc.

Thomas L. Vaughn, 20, are both members of the 718 Anti- Aircraft Artillery gun battalion at Fort Barry. They were booked on suspicion of criminal attack. Bail has been set at $5,000 each. Both servicemen have denied the charges.

They were arrested at about 5 a.m. by California Highway patrolmen at Golden Gate bridge toll plaza. Patrolmen said the had become hysterical, said the pair picked her up in a San Francisco bar and had promised to drive her home. Instead, she added, they drove her to Marin and attacked her. The servicemen, however, told patrolmen they picked up the woman at Sausalito and voluntarily took her to the Highway Patrol office on the bridge.

W. Mark of Oakland, said he telephoned her he had suffered a heart attack. She hurried to his home and found him unconscious on the floor. A pistol lay beside him. He died two hours later In a Richmond hospital without regaining consciousness.

Novato Man Arrested In 101 Crash Franklin Powers of Novato has been released from Marin County jail on $500 bail after California Highway patrolmen arrested him Saturday when they said his car made a wide sweep on UJ5. 101 and collided with a house trailer. In the collision, just north of San Rafael, Mrs. Martha Franklin, 33, and her 11-year-old daughter, Bren da Joyce, riding In the trailer, were treated at San Rafael General hospital for leg injuries. They were treated and released immediately.

They were injured as the trailer jackknifed, turning the car which was pulling it, on its side. Powers was booked at Marin County jail on a charge of drunk driving involving an injury. Highway patrolmen said the accident occurred at 6:30 p.m. as Melvin Franklin, 39, was driving the auto south on the highway. The man and his wife and four children were driving from Crosset, to Crescent City where they were to make their home.

Just north of San Rafael officers said Powers was driving north and all over the The crash came as patrolmen said the Novato man was making one of his wide sweeps on the road. Powers lives at 1542 Olive avenue, Novato. In a crash Friday, Aileen Grey, 39, of San Francisco, and Charles Green, 40, of 480 Irving court, Mill Valley, received minor injuries when carp they were driving were involved in a two car rear-end crash just south of Alto wye. The drivers were treated by personal physicians. Greene was cited for speeding without due caution, officers said.

Charles Duncan William Ross Charles Stafford Duncan, 59, former Sausalito artist, died In New York City Saturday. He lived In Sausalito several years ago and was given his first Job by another Charles Duncan, an artist now living in Sausalito. Similarity of names was an influencing factor in the association, the Sausalito resident said. The deceased artist had his work exhibited at the Corcoran Art gallery in Washington, at the Pennsylvania Academy, -Whitney Museum of Modern Art in New York and at other galleries and museums throughout the United States. He is survived by his wife, Doro thy; daughter, Jane Back; and granddaughters, Nicole and Miche Back, all of New York City.

Funeral services will be held in New York City tomorrow and interment will be in Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, Coima. Scudder Votes Against Foreign Aid Measure Rep, Hubert B. Scudder Sebastopol) voted last week against a compromise foreign aid bill which would allot $6,447,730, 750. The bill was sent to the House floor after a Senate-House conference committee met to iron out differences between the two versions of the foreign aid bill. Army. Mrs. Bessie Holt Mrs. Bessie C. Holt, 80, of San Geronimo died Friday night In a local hospital after a long illness.

Born in Rhode Island, she had lived in San Franeiseo before moving to Maxin. She was the wife of the late Irving Holt and the mother ofr the late Dorothy Radabaugh. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Maye C. Comstock; brother, Henry Card; and a nephew, Robert C.
