North Pony Loop Meeting Tonight Officers of the North Marin Pony Baseball League will meet tonight in Novato to complete plans for the 1959 season, it was announced yesterday. The meeting, to be held at the home of Major Gordon R. Sorenson, 1380 Joyce Street, will touch on such subjects as team sponsorship, insurance, playing areas and dates for tryouts. Two other teams also posted important wins last night: Michigan State clung to first place in the Big Ten with an 88-57 rout over Wisconsin as Johnny Green led a well-balanced attack with 18 points. And Bradley remained tied with St. Louis for second place in the Missouri Valley Conference with a 60-52 victory over Wichita as Bobby Joe Mason scored 20 points.

But St. concluded an all-losing tour of the Midwest with a 72-70 loss to Notre Dame. In other leading games last night: Defending Big Ten champion Indiana set five league scoring marks in crushing Ohio State, 122-92, including single-game mark of 113 the Hoosiers set in 1953; M. C. SAN RAFAEL Jurors Clear Blaik And Brennan Newcombe Of Assault Charge NEWARK, N.J. nati pitcher Don Newcombe and his two brothers have been cleared of charges of assaulting and threatening to kill a former policeman in a 1957 brawl at their Newark tavern.

An Essex County jury of 10 men and two women yesterday acquitted Don, Norman and Harold Newcombe or the charges after deliberating for an hour and five minutes. Don and Norman had been accused of booting former East Orange Policeman Ulysses Ross, 36, out of their tavern. Ross claimed he suffered serious injuries as a result of the episode and brought a civil action for $150,000. He further alleged that Harold Newcombe threatened to kill him with a gun as a footnote to the fight. The jury said the verdict brought a wide grin to face.
