2. of Reveal Coast Guard District Accomplishments Last Year For the Eleventh -Coast Guard District, 1960 was year crowded with activity aimed at carrying out its traditional function of maintaining safety and order on the high seas and navigable waters of the United States, Capt. S. C. Linholm, commander, Eleventh Coast Guard District, announced.

In looking back on service accomplishments for the past year, Capt. Linholm pointed out that district facilities had responded to 1978 calls for assistance, had rescued 79 persons from peril, assisted others and had furnished medical aid to 100 additional per- sons. List Personnel Totals In the same period, the total value of property saved, including cargo, exceeded $10,000,000. Eleventh active, duty military personnel totaled 1069 in 1960 compared to 1029 in 1959, while authorized civilian employes totaled 72 in the past year. The volume of law enforcement activity undertaken by the district in 1960 is indicated- by the following statistics: Vessels boarded and papers examined, reports of violations of the Motorboat Act, 2495; report of violations of Port Security regulations, 24; report of violations of the Highway Users Pay $29 Million The February split of highway users taxes among the state, cities and counties amounted to $29,104,458, State Controller Alan Cranston had reported today.
