The primary focus of the is to impact the youth of South Florida and spread awareness about education, health and positive lifestyle choices. The Dolphins make it a huge priority to spread that message on a weekly basis, and the students of Horace Mann were very receptive to learning the principles of "Dol-Fit." "The Horace Mann students were very eager to listen to and digest our message," Dolphins Youth Programs Coordinator Troy Drayton said. "I think everyone had a great time, and I am really pleased with how the JTC went; you can tell we made an impact." The event began with Drayton speaking to the kids, before they were treated to the football stations, which included offensive and defensive drills featuring hurdles, knock-away dummies, ladders and halfback pads just like the Miami Dolphins players. The girls were taught cheerleader routines from current Miami Dolphins cheerleader Grace.

After the camp, Grace and the junior cheerleaders showcased an actual Miami Dolphins cheer for their peers. "Overall, the event went really well," Drayton said. "The students learned some good stuff, and we all had fun today. We would be happy to return here." Horace Mann Middle, which serves approximately 760 students, has its own health initiatives, such as healthy food choices in the cafeteria. The Miami Dolphins Youth vision is to prepare the next generation of leaders in staying physically active through their Junior Training Camps, Youth Football Clinics and Youth Football Camps.
