MRS. EMMA L. ROCK KNOXVILLE - Funeral services for Mrs. Emma L. Rock 82, of 209 S. Broad St, Knoxville, who died Tuesday, were held today at 2 p.m. here in the Klinck Chapel, Rev. Howard Schaar of the Fairview Lutheran Church officiating. Mrs. Marvin McWhorter, of Cuba, was vocalist, accompanied by Mrs. Elizabeth Clarke, organist. Burial was in the Zion Lutheran-Cemetery at Fairview. Pallbearers were Donald Chapman, Lawrence Cook, Carl and Lawrence Schrodt and Carl and Roy Rock. MRS. SELMA JOHNSON GILSON — Funeral services for Mrs. Selma Johnson, 83, of Gilson, who died Wednesday at St. Mary's Hospital, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Klinck Chapel at Knoxville, where friends may call this evening. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery at New Windsor. In the obituary published in Thursday's issue, the name of a surviving daughter should have read Mrs. Cecil Palmer of Gilson. Mrs. Johnson was married to J. Alfred Johnson in Galesburg Feb. 4, 1903. He died in 1912, r MRS. MYRTLE GAINES Graveside services for Mrs. Myrtle Gaines, 71, of Galesburg, who died Tuesday, were held today at 10 a.m. in Linwood Cemetery. Rev. Richard Slavish of Saturday afternoon at 1:30 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Bisch Memorial Funeral Home in Church officiated. Springfield with Rev. Whittle pastor of the Laurel Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge cemetery at Springfield. Friends may call at the chapel from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. today and Saturday until time of service. who resided in Galesburg 44 years, retired from business in 1961. He had resided 12 years at Oquawka and the past six months at Galesburg Route 1. He was married to Florence Drinnin, Nov. 2, 1919, at Lansing, Mich. Survivors are the widow; two sons, Richard L. and Ralph D M of Galesburg; two daughters, Mrs. Myron (Ruth) Fields of Galesburg and Mrs. Don (Roberta) Appleby of Galesburg Route 1; a sister, Mrs. Glenn Ward in California, and 11 grandchildren. MRS. CECIL M. DANIELS MONMOUTH - Mrs. Cecil M. Daniels, 45, former Monmouth resident died Thursday morning at the Memorial hospital in Springfield. The former Rosemary Bailey was born July 4, 1918 at Ft. Wayne, Ind., the daughter of Clarence and Marie Ryan Bailey. Mrs. Daniels had lived in Monmouth from 1921 until 1945 when she moved to Springfield. Surviving are the widower and a daughter Joann at home. Also surviving are her father, Clarence Bailey of Springfield, her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary Bailey of Mattoon, a half-sister Mrs. James T. Connell Jr., of Monmouth and a half-brother, William Bailey of Baton Rouge, La. She was preceded in death by her mother. Funeral services will be held BERT W. Whitehall, Keithsburg Township supervisor, died Thursday at 2 p.m. in Mercer County Hospital, Aledo, following an extended illness. Mr. Whitehall, 74, was a farmer and until recently DeKalb Seed Com dealer hi Keithsburg. Born June 23, 1889, on a farm near Seaton, Mr. Whitehall resided all his life in the Seaton- Keithsburg vicinity. He farmed until 1947, when he became a seed dealer until 1961. He was married Jan. 8, 1913, m Abington Township to Alta Jackson, who survives. Mr. Whitehall was a member of the Keithsburg First Christian Church and served as elder several years. Surviving, in addition to the widow, are two daughters, Mrs. James Frick and Mrs. Paul Rowland; a son, Don Whitehall; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and three sisters, Mrs, John Pinger, Mrs. Clint Jackson and Mrs. Elmer Truman, all of the Keithsburg area. Mrs. Black, 26, died Wednesday at 4:50 p.m. in Galesburg Cottage Hospital where she underwent surgery that morning. DR. LENOID SNEGIREFF BOSTON (UPI) — Dr. Lenoid Snegireff, 55, who was among the first scientists to suggest a link between lung cancer and smoking, died Thursday of a lung ailment. Snegireff was associate professor of chronic diseases at the Harvard School of Public Health. He first announced his findings on cigarettes and lung cancer in 1954. RAFAEL MALUENDA SANTIAGO, Chile (UPI) - Rafael Maluenda, 78, editor of El Mercurio and one of Chile's best- known newspapermen for the past 50 years, died Wednesday. SAMUEL J, DICKEY PASADENA, Calif.
