Theis, former Bloomington High School star now with Raleigh in the Carolina League, had four hits in 13 trips to the plate, inflating his average from .294 to .297. Handley, State Normal luminary playing with San Antonio in the Texas League, collected six hits in 17 times at bat to send his average from .331 to .333. Cosmidis, former Wesleyan player, collected two hits in nine trips as his average dropped from .341 to .326.

Jim Hansen, Wesleyan bonus pitcher who was with Des Moines, pitched six innings for Carlsbad, N. in the Sophomore League. Hansen didn't figure in the decision but gave up four runs on five hits.
