Reggae star Peter Tosh, 42, was murdered in his home on Sept. 11 by three members of a motorcycle gang.

Peter Tosh born Winston Macintosh in 1944 in Westmoreland, Jamaica was the baritone vocalist for Bob Marley's Wailers. He established a solo career that peaked in the late 1970s. Tosh's 1979 album "Mystic Man," produced in conjunction with the Rolling Stones on their custom record label, was one of the smoothest and most accessible reggae discs of its era. Ironically, "Mystic Man" was made shortly after Tosh survived an almost fatal beating, allegedly at the hands of Jamaican police following an arrest for marijuana use. As a Rastafarian, Tosh believed that "ganja" was a religious necessity.

He was an outspoken opponent of the local laws and Jamaican government. A guest in Tosh's home on the night of his murder herbalist Wilton "Doc" Brown was also killed in the attack, and five others were seriously injured. Local police believe that they have indentified the suspects. There was an unusual show in the San Fernando Valley on fort, "Bad." Cameron is listed as "creative consultant" for the video "Reach" by Warner Bros, artists Martini Ranch, although he's assumed to be the de facto helmsman. The avant-garde Martini Ranch, best known for last year's outre cut "How Can the Labouring Man Find Time for Self -Culture," features actor Bill Paxton as lead vocalist.

Paxton, you may recall, played the vocally panicked Marine in "Aliens."
