to America and settled in Fresno where her brother Edward Rogers owned property on Orange Avenue Following her marriage Mrs Baird and her husband lived in Easton where they operated a dairy and later Anna Marla Gill 90 a native of Carrolton 111 and a pioneer resident of the San Joaquin Valley died last night In the Selma Sanitarium following a brief Illness Mrs Gill was a daughter of Mr and Mrs Lewis Link who were pioneers of Illinois Her father scried in the Illinois Legislature with Abraham Lincoln and her husband the late William Maxwell Gill was a veteran of the rivil war rioneer Lemoore Settlers The Gills settled In Lemoore in 1889 where Gill was editor of the Lemoore Leader They stayed there for five years and Gill then became connected with the old Fresno Expositor In Fresno where the family lived for three years Her husband died in Oakland in 1901 and since then Mrs Gill had made her home in Bakersfield and Selma where she maintained her own household until she was taken fatally ill only a few days ago She would have celebrated her ninetieth birthday on May 22nd Four Sons Survive Mrs Gill had been a devout member of the Baptist Church for the last seventy five years She was the mother of six sons and one daughter four of the sons surviving her They are John Gill of Bakersfield Frank Gill of Berkeley Albert Gill of Selma and Harry Gill of Bakersfield Surviving her
