ROtAl PINK The Index-Journal, April 14. 1982 21 6DaUas9 still first in ratings LOS ANGELES (AP) "Dallas" kept its No. 1 position in the television ratings for the past week, as did CBS, although the network's two perennial winners "60 Minutes" and "M-A-S-H" dropped out of the Top 10, according to the A.C.

Nielsen Co. The CBS prime-time soap opera about the oil-rich Ewing family remained unshakable in first place. In second place for the week ending April 11 was CBS' "The Jeffersons." CBS's "60 Minutes" and "M-A-S-H" were both out of the running, however. "60 Minutes" finished 14th, although it got its usual 41 percent share of the sets in use. Fewer people were tuned in, however, because of Easter Sunday.

Its new opposition on ABC, "Inside America," did even worse, finishing in 67th place, third from the bottom. A fell to 36th in the ratings, knocked out by NBC's only placement in the Top 10, "The Kid with the Broken Halo," NBC's Monday Night Movie starring Gary Coleman. The movie finished fifth. CBS won the week with a rating of 17.0. ABC was second with a rating of 16.6 and NBC was third with 14.2.

The networks say that means in an average prime-time minute, 17 percent of the nation's homes with TV were tuned to CBS. CBS also continued in front for the season to date. It has a rating of 19.1 overall, while ABC had 18.2 and NBC 15.3. Two ABC comedies, "Three's Company" and "Too Close for Comfort," remained in strong positions as the third and fourth shows. Here are the Top 10 shows: "Dallas," a rating of 27.9 or 22.3 million households, CBS; "The Jeffersons," 25.6 or 20.5 million, CBS; "Three's Company," 24.6 or 19.3 million, ABC; "Too Close for Comfort," 24.2 or 19.3 million, rerun, ABC; Kid with the Broken Halo," 24.1 or 19.3 million, NBC; "Alice," 23.8 or 19.0 million, CBS; "Falcon Crest," 22.0 or 17.6 million, -CBS; "Dukes of Hazzard," 21.8 or 17.4 million, CBS; "Trapper John," 21.7 or 17.3 million, CBS; "Hart to Hart," 21.6 or 17.2 million, ABC.

RUFFIN DETROIT (AP) David E. Ruffin, former lead singer for the Temptations, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on three counts of failing to file income tax returns, authorities say.

The indictment charges that Ruffin. 41, didn't, file returns from 1975-77 on income totaling $311,051, the U.S. Attorney office said Tuesday. Each-of the three counts carries a maximum penalty of a year in prison and a $10,000 fine. Federal officials haven't yet served Ruffin with the indictment because they don't know where he is, U.S.

Attorney Leonard Oilman said. His last known address was in Detroit, and authorities hope he contacts them before an arrest warrant is issued, Gilman said. DAVID CROSBY DALLAS (AP) For the second time in less than a month, rock singer David Crosby has been accused by police of carrying a pistol, authorities say. After his previous arrest, his explanation was: "John Lennon, a former Beatle, was shot to death in front of his New York apartment house Dec. 8, 1980.

Crosby, formerly of the Byrds and later Crosby, Stills. Nash and Young, was arrested early Tuesday when he was found with the pistol and a substance believed to be cocaine, authorities say. 1 Two officers on a routine inspection made the arrest in a room adjacent to the stage at a nightclub where Crosby had performed earlier in the evening, police spokesman Bob Shaw said.
