SIMMONS EDGEFIELD Mrs. Mattie Moore Simmons, 103, of 401 Street N.W., widow of Solomon Simmons, died Saturday In D.C. Howard Medical Center in Washington, D.C. She was a native of Edgefield and lived in Washington D.C. for a number of years.

She was a member and choir leader of Pleasant Grove Bapist Church in Edgefield and was a member of the Woman's Club and Pleasant Grove Burial Aide Society. Surviving are four daughters, Annie Cafhran, Ruth Cathera, Mattie Bonds and Lillie Starks, all of Washington, D.C; and two sons, Olando Simmons of Edgefield and Freddie Simmons of Washington, D.C. Services will be announced by Blalock Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the home of her granddaughter, Delores Simmons, Route or at the funeral home. AMOS F.

CUNNINGHAM GREENVILLE Amos F. Cunningham, 81, of Towers East, husband of Mrs. Louise Lott Cunningham, died Sunday at his home. Bom in Hart well, he was a son of the late James Fleming and Luna Smith Cunningham. He was a retired sales representative with Masury -Columbia Co.

and after retiring, was associated with Allied Van Lines. He was a charter member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church and the Men's Bible Class. Surviving are four daughters, Ms. Margaret Huskey, Mrs.

Fred E. (Louise) Robinson and Mrs. J. Rodney (Ellen) Jordan, all of Greenville and Mrs. Kenneth B.

(Anne) Mouw of Greenwood; two brothers, William Clarke and the Rev. Harold E. Cunningham, both of Greenville; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St.

Thieves took a bicycle valued at $250 from a Grier Street home over the weekend. Jeans valued at $21 were reportedly stolen from a South Main Street home Saturday. SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT The following was taken from reports of the Greenwood County Sheriff's Department: Currency and items valued at $155 were reported missing from a room at a motel on the 72 By-Pass Saturday. Thieves destroyed a mailbox valued at $132 on Plantation Road Sunday.

Jewelry valued at $750 was reported missing from a home in Parkland Place Trailer Park over the last week. Video equipment valued at $210 was reported missing from a home on Cemetery Road Sunday. Vandals drove across yards on Oxford Drive Saturday. Damage is estimated at $350. A motorcycle valued at $1,900 was reported missing from a Route 2 home Saturday.

Miller, died Saturday. Bom in Saluda County, she was a daughter of the late Davis J. and Mary Catherine McLeon Padgett. She was a retired employee of Kendall Oakland Baptist Church and the Oakland Retirees Club. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs.

J.C. (Elizabeth) Brown of Jupiter, a son, James E. Miller of Newberry; four sisters, Mrs. Leona Satterfield of Duncan, Mrs. Ruth Cor ley of Saluda, Mrs.

Born in Forsyth County, Jan. 1, 1897, he was a son of the late E.L. and Minnie Dame Sanders. He was a graduate of Greenwood High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I.

He was a retired employee of Coleman Realty Co. and was formerly employed by Bolton's Clothing Store. He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post No. 20 and the Forty and Eight Club. Surviving in addition to his wife of the home; are two brothers, S.

Brown Sanders of Charleston and Ralph D. Sanders of Laurinburg, N.C. and nieces and nephews. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Magnolia Cemetery with Dr.

Anna S. Hughes, 89, wife of Anor Hughes, died Sunday. Born in Saginaw she was a daughter of the late Peter and Ernestine Altman Schoerner. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jacob (Maxine) Ewing of Saluda and Mrs.

Agnes Clark of Columbus, Ohio; a son, Elton Hughes of Burlington, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday at Heeny-Sundquist Funeral Home of Farmington, Mich. Esther Holt Mims, 88, wife of the Rev. Dwight W. Mims, died Friday. Born in Spartanburg, she was a daughter of Mrs. Eunice Parnell Holt and the late Rev.

R. Holt. She was a graduate of Winthrop College and a teacher at Strom Thurmond High School in Edgefield County. She was a member of Johnston United Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to her hus-band: her mother of Sum-merville; are a daughter.

Miss Hillary Mims of Johnston; a son, Brian Mims of Johnston; three sisters, Mrs. Marion White of Columbia, Mrs. James Carries of Lancaster and Mrs. Abbie Beech of Summerville; and a brother, Grier T. Holt of Omaha, Neb.

Services were at 4 p.m. Sunday at Johnston United Methodist Church with burial in Harmony United Methodist Church Cemetery. Wadine Fain Haltiwanger, died Sunday. Born in Saluda County, he was a son of the late Gordon Pierce and Ethel Forrest Haltiwanger. He was a veteran of World War II and a retired employee of Milli-ken Co. He was a member of Kadosh Masonic Lodge and the American Legion Post No. 154.

Surviving in addition to his wife; are three daughters, Mrs. Jackie H. Bartley and Mrs. Ethel H. Ray, both of Johnston and Mrs.

BAYLOR Mrs. Racheal Adams Baylor. 87, of 109 Peachtree widow of Floyd Baylor, died Saturday at Self Memorial Hospital. Born in Greenwood County, March 6, 1896, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Mamie Louden Adams. She was a member of Marshall Chapel Baptist Church and the Woman's Aide Society No.

11. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are five nieces raised in the home, Mrs. Annetta Reid, Mrs. Bessie Baylor, Miss Angelia Reid, and Miss Leshay Reid, all of Greenwood; and three nephews raised in the home, Archie and John L.

and Amanda Branyon Maddox. She was a member of Donalds Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, William M. Kay of Donalds a daughter, Mrs. Robert C.

RUSTY PROCTOR James W. "Rusty" Proctor, 57, of 208 Oakland Drive, husband of Gloria Galloway Proctor, died this morning at Self Memorial Hospital. Bom in Greenwood, a son of the late James Daniel and Dessie Butler Proctor, he was employed by Greenwood Specialty and was the manager of Emeral Lanes, Inc. He was of the Baptis faith and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict. Surviving in additon to his wife of the home; is a son, Robert Daniel Proctor of Greenwood; two sisters, Mrs.

Kathryn Fields and Mrs. Mary Snipes, both of Greenwood; four brothers, Frank Proctor of Belton, Howard Proctor of Augusta, Earl "Red" and Charles A. Proctor, both of Greenwood, two grandchildren. Services will be a 11 a.m. Tuesday at Harley Funeral Home with the Rev.
