Mrs. Devlin was born In Ogle county, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Mattes, on Oct. 2 1872.

She was married on Ken. 28 1905. to Hush Devlin, survives as does a brother, LewU Mattes of Milwaukee. Two brothers and a sister as well as her parents have preceded her in death. She was a resident of Belvidere for 30 years, coming here Rockford.
