Many of her colleagues, former students, and friends from the community attended the affair. When Mrs. Johnson began her career, she taught in the old Poplar Grove High School. Then, while North Boone High was being planned, she became a junior high instructor. She has been a resident of the Poplar Grove area for about 40 years and has one daughter Miss Virginia Dimond, who is a mathematics educator at Naperville Central High School.

Mrs. Johnson has traveled extensively throughout the United States and in foreign countries. After her retirement, she and her husband plan to visit the Holy Land with a group conducted by the Rev. Virgil Smith. "Yes, we have Fried Chicken Fish Fry to go." Open to 10:00 p.m.

Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Matt Ohlsen, 641 John St. Given in marriage by her brother, John Dumer of Waverly, Iowa, the bride chose an empire waisted, floor length gown of white organza over taffeta, featuring long, sheer sleeves, bands of satin ribbon, a chapel length train and a high collar.

Her floor length veil extended from a white bead-piece, and she carried a cascade of white carnations and yellow roses with yellow and green streamers. Pauline Dumer of Cedar Falls, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Deanna Walvatne of Waterloo, sister of the bride, and Trudy Ohlsen of Belvidere, sister of the bridegroom. Jane Walvatne of Waterloo, niece of the bride, was flower girl.

The bride's mother chose a white dress with navy blue vest and white accessories. The mother of the bridegroom wore a pink three piece suit with black accessories. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Zuck of Waterloo, with 100 guests attending.

Marie Dumer, aunt of the bride, and Mildred Sims, aunt of the bridegroom, served the three-tiered wedding cake which featured a clover-leaf bottom and yellow rose -ttecorations. The bride, a graduate of Cedar Falls High School and Gate Business College, Waterloo, is employed at Wolf Chevrolet Sales, Inc. The bridegroom, a Belvidere High School graduate, attends Rock Valley College and is employed at Ohlsen's Mobil Station. Mr. and Mrs.

John Schirmer, 427 Fifth Marengo, announce the engagement of their daughter, Joanne Marie, to Raymond John Dawson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dawson, Caledonia. The bride-to-be is a senior at Marengo Community High School and plans to attend Rock Valley College in the fall. Her fiance is a 1971 graduate of Belvidere High School and a freshman at Rock Valley College.
