THE WICHITA EAGLE-BEACON Saturday juna 26 1982 7B Television Manager Says KTVH Not for Sale 6at This Bob Curtright divisional operations except the Star-Tribune was the only one who could comment Mackie says he talked with Thompson last week about the Channel 12 rumor that had just cropped up here and he said he learned that it is not the only sale rumor connected with Cowles Media formerly the Minneapolis Star and Tribune Company (The company name was changed in May to reflect diversification away from newspapers) There Is talk that foe Hearst chain is interested in buying the Minneapolis Star-Tribune which recently become a combined morning newspaper In the wake of economic unheaval that forced closing ot the separate afternoon Minneapolis Star Mackie says Thompson also denied that rumor Has Channel 12 been affected either in business or staff Tnorale by the rumor of impending sale?
