ARDETH Editor Published fiy the ties Town-Country Club Elects New Officers Town and Coun- tryWoman's club met Tuesday, May 24 for the last meeting of the club year, at the home of Mrs Don Jorgenson in Algona, for a buffet supper. This was in Mrs Jorgenson's honor, as she is leaving the club. She was presented with a gift from the club. Mrs Kenneth Johnson was assistant hostess for the meeting.

Mrs Calvin Vaudt, a former member of thfe club, was at this meeting welcomed back as a member. Mrs John Struecker and Mrs Jack G-erhart reported on the county meeting held at LuVerne Mrs Arnold Hansen also attended the meeting. The following officers were installed for the coming year. President, Mrs Jack Gerhart; president, Mrs Hersohal Hart man; corresponding secretary, Mrs Eugene Huskamp; Recording secretary, Mrs Don Shaw; treasurer, Mrs Russell Jensen; and Historian, Mrs Wendell Rusch. For the program, Mrs Lyle, Newel gave a report on the twin religions of China, Confucianism and Taoism.

Mrs John Waite spoke on 'Herodias, the Wicked. Several games were conducted. Mrs Kathryn Reed of Livermore, was unable to attend as she is taking care of her mother, Mrs Mary Krause who is now 90 years of age. Mrs Krause has recently came back from Tacoma, Wash where she spent the past two years with another daughter Mrs Bob Padgett. Honor German Visilor A family reunion was held May 29 in 'the Fenton Community Center honoring Mrs Paul Miller from Sandelfingen, Germany, who has been visiting at the Freda Siems home and with other relatives the past three weeks. Doris Beck, daughter of Mr and Mrs Carl Beck formerly of the Fenton community was Valedictorian of the eighth grade graduating class of the Emmetsburg public school of 1955. Doris received the highest honors in a class of 52 students.

The award was sponsored by the publishers of the Reader's Digest. She is a granddaughter of the Herman Haacks of Fent'on. Mr and Mrs Melvin Warner of Chicago are spending a two week's vacation the Sam Warners and the Martin Ohms. Mr and Mrs E. J.

Heikes moved to Ocheyedan, Iowa this past Thursday. Mrs Heikes taught grade 3 and Mr Heikes Social studies and Science at Fenton the past three years. Both have accepted the same type positions at Ocheyedan for the coming The Mark circle of the WSCS Fenton Ten teenagers, from 'enton, met May 23, in the Fenon Community Center to organize a Drivers Club. Arnold lanson acted as counseller at his meeting. Roger Dreyer was elected as vice president and Wiener as news reporter.

On a previous date the school's student body elected Jerry Reimers as president and Nancy Wiener as secretary and treasurer. The members decided to name the club 'Fenton Safety Driver's Club 1 They decided to hold meetings the first and third Friday of every month. There was a discussion on various 'projects that could be carried out, but definite plans will not be made until the club is more organized. For the next meeting the club hopes to have Sgt. L.

Meyers, a patrol officer of Humboldt, as their guest speaker. This meeting is scheduled to be held Friday June 3rd at the Community Center. We urge all teenagers, who are eligible for any kind drivers license or permit withir six months and are under 21 years of age to join us. Tola Berkcland is a member of this year's graduating class. She has accepted a teaching position in the kindergarten at Kanawha.
