Miss Studer was in Titonka to do the drawing as the first of her official duties as reigning There was only a small group on hand for the drawing, but winners of loins were notified by phone Friday night and ham winners will receive cards telling them where to pick up their prize. The two loins donated by the Kossuth County, Pork Producers were won by Della Rippentrop and Doris Leeck. The two half hogs given in the Titonka Savings Bank were won by Lawrence Heyer and Mrs.

Open House Shower To Honor Mrs. David Isebrands An open house shower, honoring Mrs. David Isebrands nee Sue McGinnis, will be held Thursday evening, July 1 at 7:30 p.m, at the Titonka United Methodist Church, All friends and relatives of the couple are cordially invited to attend. 8 DAYS Without A Fire Beth Engelbarts Married At Immanuel Lutheran Church Local Students Graduate At Mankato State College Two Titonka students were College in June commencement graduated by Mankato exercises there on Friday, June 11, Making up the graduating class were 1,125 students, in83 receiving master degrees, five receiving the new six year specialist degree, 1,021 receiving bachelor degrees, four receiving Secretarial Administration Degrees, 12 receiving Secretarial Certificates.

17 students were graduated Summa Cum Laude, 31 Magna Cum Laude and 52 Cum Laude. Congressman Albert Quie of the First District was the commencement speaker. The students graduated from Titonka were David Kitzinger (Cum Laude), B.S. in business administration; and Joleen Sleper, A.A. in secretarial administration.

Funeral Services Friday For Mrs. Henry Kruse, 84: Woden: Funeral services for Mrs. Henry (Charlotte) Kruse, 84, will be held Friday, June 25 at 10:00 a.m. at the Woden United Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Markkula officiating.

Mrs. Kruse died Tuesday morning at the Timely Mission Home in Buffalo Center, where she had been a resident since April 13. She had previously resided at Grundy Center. Her husband, Rev. Henry Kruse, died in 1952.

He was pastor of Woden Presbyterian Church for 28 years. Surviving are four children, one daughter, Mrs. Henry (Emeralda) Senne of Buffalo Center, and three sons, Rev. Charles Kruse of Avon, S. Rev.

Marvin Kruse of Edgerton, Minn. and Rev. Harlan Kruse of New Brighton, six grandchildren, and six! great grandchildren. One grandson, Paul Kruse, son of Rev. and Mrs.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore a floor. longth gown of white satapeau fashioned in empire The sheer, detachable train was trimmed with lace and formed a chapel sweep. The bride wore a ballerina length veil of nylon illus-! ion held in place by a cap of organza and Venice lace. Mrs. Carolyn Rode of Du-' buque, sister of the bride, was matron of honor.

Joann and Jean Engelbarts, and Rexann Voyles were bridesmaids. All wore floor length lilac crepe gowns. attendant The bride's personal was Karen Brandt, Scott Voyles served his brother as best man, and groomsmen were Steve Claude, Tom Ricklefs and Don Hagen. Ushers were Donavon Giesking and Bill McDonald. The men in the wedding party wore: white dinner jackets.

Steve is a graduate of Algona School, attended Black Hawk College in Moline, and is now a senior at Mankato State College, majoring in economics. DeYoung, well known recent professor at Calvin College Seminary in Grand Rapids, Mich, and present pastor of Sioux Center Christian Reformed Church will be the featured speaker at, the Britt Christian Reformed Church Mission Fest activities on Tuesday, June 29, Dr. DeYoung, known as an outstanding speaker in church evangellsm, was one of the guest speakers at the recent four-day Evangelism Conference of the Christian Reformed Church held at Green Lake, Mich. Titonka Post Office To Observe Special Day The inauguration of the new United States Postal Service on Thursday, July 1, will be celebrated in Washington, D.C., and in every post office across the country. Postmaster Dick Gerdis has announced that all members of the community are invited to visit their local post office on July 1st and enjoy the hospitality of the the men and women who comprise the new U.S.

Postal Service, Dedication ceremonies in Washington will be hosted by Postmaster General Blount. Honored guests at the dedication will include members of Congress, former Postmasters General, the Board of nors of the new Postal Service and their wives, as well as Assistant Postmasters General, i headquarters personnel and. other dignitaries. Visitors to the post office will be given a souvenir envel-1 ope imprinted with the old and new insignia of the Postal Service. This envelope will also be made available in limited numbers as a first day cancellation for just the cost of an 8c stamp.

This will be the first time First Day Covers have been available in all U.S. Post Offices. A photographic display of modern Postal Service jobs and functions will help visitors learn more about the men and; women of the Postal Service and how each mail user can help them to serve the community better. There will be Historic Stamp Posters on display. They are big, bright, colorful posters made up of blow-ups of famous stamps.

The posters will be available to the public on order. There will be Postal Service booklets which describe the new United States Postal Service and how it works. It tells our customers how they can help us to give them the kind of service booklets they need and want. The will be available to visitors on request. Open House Shower To Honor Mrs.

Dennis Rafdal open house miscellaneous post- shower honoring Mrs. Dennis Rafdal, will be held at the Ramsey Reformed Church parlors on Tuesday, June 29 at 8:00 p.m. All friends and relatives are cordially invited to attend, 3708. Shown in the top photo is the 1963 Chevrolet (after it had been brought to town) driven by Randy Krominga, that collided with the 1966 Oldsmobile (bottom photo) driven by off Jim McKinney. The McKinney auto was hit broadside, ripping the door on the passenger side.

Both cars are listed as total losses. Rest Home Kick-Off Meeting Open To The Public Tonight Isebrands-McGinnis Vows Exchanged At Algona Suzanne Marie McGinnis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard McGinnis of Algona, and David Clarence Isebrands, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Clarence Isebrands, were married June 18 at 7:30 p.m. in a light service at the First United Methodist Church in Algona, with Rev. Raymond L. Russel officiating at the double ring ceremony. Mr.

McGinnis escorted his daughter to the altar, The bride was attended by Lois Isebrands as maid of honor, and Jan McGinnis served her sister as bridesmaid. The bride wore a Victorian style gown fashioned of reembroidered net lace with i bishop sleeves and a high neckline. The bridal veil was a face-frame of dainty reembroidered lace blossoms encrusted with pearls holding a full bouffant, elbow length veil of pure silk illusion. Terry Smith of Wesley served the groom as best man, while Michael McGinnis served as groomsman. Jeffrey McGinnis served as ring bearer.

Terry Haines of Titonka and Dale Fraser of Burt seated the guests and lit the candles. Soloist was Kathy Devine of Whittemore, and organist was Mrs. Kirk Hayes of Algona. A reception was held in the home of the bride's parents. Judy Sabin of Algona was in charge of the guest book, Jane Sabin served punch, and Nancy Haag poured coffee.

Mrs. Bill Lampright, Mrs. Stan Muckey and Mrs. Tom Cogdall cut the cake and assisted at the reception. The bride is a graduate of Algona High School and is employed at the Good SamarRest Home.

The groom has attended the University of Iowa at Iowa City the past two years and will return there in the fall. Citizens Change Pot Luck Supper Date The Titonka Senior Citizens will hold their monthly pot luck dinner Monday, July 12 on account of the 5th being a holiday. Members are invited to come with ideas for their Indian Day float. July birthdays will be recognized. Everyone is welcome.

Five Titonka area youths were injured. about 8:45 p.m., Saturday in a 2-car crash three miles south of Titonka on Highway 226 at the Burt road intersection. According to Iowa Highway Patrolman Charles Bird, who investigated the accident, a 1966 Oldsmobile driven by Jim McKinney, 19 son of Mr. and Mrs. John (Tom) McKinney, was headed west and after stopping at the intersection, pulled into the path of a 1963 Chevrolet, headed south and driven by Randy Krominga, 18, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Russell Krominga. The Krominga auto left about 100 feet of skid marks before the impact and hit the McKinney car broadside, knocking It into the ditch on the southwest corner of the intersection where it came to rest on its roof. There were two in the Oldsmobile, William passengers Parcel, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Glen Parcel, and Donald Gatton, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Gatton. Gerald Stoddard, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Gail Stoddard, was a passenger in the Krominga car. All five boys were injured and taken to St. Ann Hospital, Algona, for treatment, Bill received lacerations of the head and leg; Don suffered internal Jim injuries had and a broken lacerations; Randy suffered a cut on the head and a broken leg bone; and Gerald, most seriously injured, had head injurles and severe injury to the left eye. He was taken to Rochester, Minn. for treatment Sunday morning.

The Titonka ambulance and Kieth Hofbauer, night policeman in Titonka, were called to the scene and took the boys to the hospital. Charges of failing to yield The Titonka Community Rest Home Kick-off Meeting will be held tonight, Thursday, June 24, at 8:00 p.m, at the Titonka United Methodist Church. All corporation bers and volunteer workers are urged to attend as this will be the start of the fund drive for the home. This meeting is open to the public, and everyone is welcome to attend. This is your opportunity to ask questions and find out first-hand about plans for the rest home.

Lunch will be served. Medicare Premium Rate Increase Starts July 1st Monthly social security checks for beneficiaries 65 over who have Medicare doctor bill insurance will be reduced 30 cents in July, Clifford Swedlund, social security manager in Fort Dodge, said. The basic monthly premium for medical insurance under Medicare will increase from $5.30 to $5.60. This will be reflected in the checks scheduled for delivery on July 3, to cover increasing medical costs and greater use of medical services. Medical insurance helps pay doctor bills for about 95 percent of the people 65 or over, according to Swedlund.

The program is financed by monthly premiums that are matched by the federal government. Medicare hospital insurance, financed by payroll contributions of workers and employers, is available for most people 65 and over. Swedlund urges anyone having a question on Medicare or social security to telephone the Fort Dodge Social Security Office, phone (515) 576-5185. GRADUATES LeMars: GRADUATES LeMars: Graduating from Westmar College on May 27 was Michael Pearson, a physical education major, and the son of Mr. and Mrs.

Anton Pearson of Wesley.
