owned by Ross Beach and Robert Schmidt both of Hays bought the station and its company Wichita-Hutchinson Inc from Cowles The purchase was completed Friday and KBS began operating the station today Ensign-Dodge City operate KBS a regional programming and sales network Evaluations Ban Is Lifted On Teachers A judge on Friday lifted a temporary suspension of several Derby School District teacher evaluations but set a hearing for Feb 7 on a teacher's union lawsuit challenging the evaluations Sedgwick County Associate Judge James Beasley said the school district could continue disputed evaluations which are separate from state-required three-year evaluations until a final ruling in the case next month The Derby Education Association which brought the suit against the district on Tuesday contends that current evaluations of five elementary schoolteachers violate the teachers' contract and has asked the court to order them stopped "What we have Is a set of administrators who decided they were going to change that policy and how certain teachers would be evaluated" said Peggy McNieve a Kansas National Education Association attorney who is representing the Derby association
