several lakefront homes in northeast Augusta There were no reports of injuries Wichita also had rain and high winds that caused power outages in east Wichita The Augusta twister reported at about 8:20 pm also downed power lines through much of the Simmons Addition of the city 12 miles east of Wichita Officials estimated that about 200 homes were without power Saturday night About a dozen small Ares were reported as the downed lines exploded Damage from the fires however was minimal officials said Augusta Police Chief Steve Shaffer said the twister struck without warning developed on the western
