high marks from their peers at other colleges and objective data such as graduation rates studentteacher ratios and financial resources the 11th time Berea has earned a top ranking in the magazine The University of Kentucky tied for 120th among national universities and was in the middle of the pack among Southeastern Conference schools Vanderbilt tied for 18th was the highest-ranked in the SEC At Asbury President Paul A Rader cheered the news that his college had been recognized for the 13th year in a row recognition puts Asbury College in front of people across the nation drawing attention to this Christian liberal arts institution in Wilmore Rader said in an e-mail noting that Asbury also was judged a good financial value Berea which does not charge tuition but expects students to work yesterday on a Lexington nun who died Saturday several days after he entered the Fayette County jafl The Fayette County office said a preliminary investigation shows Gerald Cornett 45 died of blunt force injury to his head The report noted that the pattern of injuries appears consistent with a folL The statement said Cornett was reported to have fallen and struck his head but authorities could not be reached last night to elaborate The statement noted the death was being investigated as accidental Cornett was arrested for public intoxication after police said he was observed sitting drunk at Wilson Downing Road and Ridge-point Run in Lexington late last Sunday night Less than two hours after he was booked at the jafl Cornett was taken to University of -Kentucky Hospital after he waa found in his single-person celL He lapsed into a coma and died at 6:15 am Saturday according to the report City officials are investigating how Cornett landed in tire hospital with massive head trauma and dark purple bruises that lined his back chest and left thigh City and jail officials have said Cornett did not enter or leave the detention facility with any bruises or head usuries Capt Edye Dabney a jail spokeswoman said there was no indication that Cornett got into a fight at the jail and said that he was cooperative stepfather Bob Arnold said authorities had not contacted him about
