Tuesday at Davis Mortuary, Tremont, the Rev. Robert Pitsch officiating. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens, Pekin. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the mortuary. She was born Aug.

30, 1903, at Greenup, a daughter of Thomas and Louisa Tutewiler Rosecrans. She married Joseph H. McMakin Oct. 16, 1924, in Peoria. He died June 4, 1963.

Surviving are a son, Jack Tremont; three daughters, Myra Pfeiffer, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Etta Mae Park, Tremont, and Bonnie Jo Parker, Groveland; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A brother and a sister preceded her in death. She was a member of Tremont United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary and Royal Neighbors of America. She worked at Tazewell County Nursing Home west of Tremont. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

George Cecil LINCOLN (PNS) George Cecil, 70, died at 9:07 a.m. Sunday at St. John's Hospital, Springfield. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holland Barry Funeral Home, the Rev.

Stuart Couve officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. He was born Feb.

16, 1911, at Foster, a son of Fred and Ella Loyd Cecil. He married Helen Duginger Oct. 31, 1937, at Rich Hill, Mo. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Dick and Tom, both of Lincoln; four daughters, Julia Loeffelholz, Nana Papesch and Bonnie Jo Farmer, all of Lincoln, and Elaine Carlile, Peoria; a brother, William, Belton, and 15 grandchildren.

A sister preceded him in death. He was a former business agent for Carpenters' Local 568, Lincoln. He was a 37-year member of the local. He was a member of Lincoln Moose Lodge and Foster Christian Church, Foster, Mo. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

John W. Sandford PONTIAC (PNS) The graveside funeral of John W. Sandford, 60, of 220 W. Torrance who died Saturday, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at South Side Cemetery, the Rev.

Leon B.G. Adams officiating. Military rites will also be accorded at the cemetery. There will be no visitation. Raleigh J.

Harris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born June 15, 1921, in Minneapolis, a son of William P. and Kathryn Johnson Sandford. He married Marjorie W. Williams June 9, 1942, in Pontiac.

She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Kathryn Ames, Athens, and Diane Stueben, Annandale, three sons, George William, Atlanta, John, Chicago, and Sgt. James Fort Bragg, N.C.: four grandchildren; and two sisters, Frances Vassar, Long Island, N.Y., and Susanna Savitt, Clayton, A sister preceded him in death. He attended the University of Illinois, Urbana. He was employed in the display advertising department of the Daily Leader for almost 15 years.

He was a World War I1 veteran, serving as a captain with the 503rd Parachute Infantry in the Pacific. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Pontiac American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Alma C. Scheid LINCOLN (PNS) Alma C. Scheid, 91, died at 6:45 a.m.

Sunday at St. Clara's Manor. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Holland Barry Funeral Home, the Rev, Wallace Reifsteck officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be for an hour before the service at the funeral home. She was born Nov. 29, 1889, in Lincoln, a daughter of Frank and Anna Ahrens Scheid. Surviving are a brother, Edward, Lincoln; and several nieces and nephews. A brother and three sisters preceded her in death.

She was a former employee of Feldman's Gift Store, Lincoln, and was a member of St. John United of Christ. WEATHER Monday, Nov. 23, 1981 Raymond Smith PONTIAC (PNS) The private funeral of Raymond Franklin Smith, 43, R.R. 4, who died Saturday, will be Tuesday morning at Raleigh J.

Harris Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. He was born July 6, 1938, in Pontiac, a son of Percy and Nellie Schott Smith. He married Catherine R.

Muir Sept. 16, 1960, in Odell. She survives. Also surviving are Charles at home; two daughters, Stephanie E. and Melanie both at home; his mother, Pontiac; a brother, Fred, Pontiac; a sister, Bessie Busing, Pontiac.

His father preceded him in death. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956 to 1958. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. He owned and operated the Smoke House.

Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Bess Miller ODELL (PNS) Bess Murphy Miller, 92, Champaign, formerly of Odell, died late Saturday at Mercy Hospital, Champaign, after a long illness. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Church, Champaign, the Rev. Render officiating.

Burial will be at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday in St. Paul's Cemetery, Odell. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Owens Funeral Home, Champaign.

She was a daughter of Thomas and Bridget Hughes, Champaign. She married William E. Murphy Jan. 10, 1913. He died Nov.

25, 1934. She married Barney Miller in June 1948. He died in 1966. Surviving are two sons, John Edwin Murphy and Gerald Murphy, both of Champaign; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were three sons.

She lived in Odell 16 years and later in Farmer City. Charles Bowker DEWITT (PNS) Charles Bowker, 80, died at 4 a.m. Sunday at Illini House, Decatur. His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Herington-Calvert Funeral Home, the Rev.

C. Don Ferrill officiating. Burial will be in DeWitt Cemetery. Visitation will be for an hour before the service at the funeral home. He was born June 28, 1901, in DeWitt, a son of Levi and Mary Alice Toland Bowker.

Surviving are two cousins, Margaret Goss and Lillian Tate. both of Eldorado. Orville Stover CHATSWORTH (PNS) Orville Stover, 75, died at 10:37 p.m. Sunday at Fairbury Hospital. He was taken to Culkin Memorial Home, Chatsworth.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mount Pulaski. Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery, Anna Lorine Short Anna Lorine Short, 76, of 702 N. Linden Normal, died at 1:55 p.m. Sunday at McLean Nursing Home.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Metzler Memorial Home, the Rev. Fred Belcher officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m.

Tuesday at the memorial home. She was born Feb. 22, 1905, at Silex, a daughter of Marion and Adeline Cross Hickman. She married Chester W. Short April 27, 1921, in Bloomington.

He preceded her in death. Surviving are five daughters, Francise Barlow, with whom she made her home, Karol Harris, Lexington, Sandra Gottschalk, R.R. 1, Betty Witt, Scott City, and Virginia Deal, Yalaha, a brother, Wiley Hickman, Millington, a sister, Mabel Crammond, Petersburg; 21 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Three sons, three brothers and a sister preceded her in death. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Edna Duvall Edna Duvall, 87, of 1509 N. Calhoun St. died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday at Family Tree Nursing Center.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Evergreen Cemetery, the Rev. Dr. Robert Cueni officiating. Visitation will be for an hour before the funeral at Beck Memorial Home.

She was born Oct. 25, 1894, in Bloomington, daughter of David and Johanna Steckman. She married Roland V. Duvall Dec. 10, 1914, in Bloomington.

He died March 27, 1974. Surviving are a son, Howard, 530 W. Grove two daughters, Rosemary Keener, Centerville, Ohio, and Geraldine Duvall, Bloomington Manor; eight grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren; and three greatgreat-grandchildren. Three sisters preceded her in death. State police continue traffic program state troopers worked an extra 372 man-hours in, October, at straight salary, as part of a Concentrated Traffic Enforcement Program being conducted to reduce traffic accidents and related injuries and deaths.

The troopers made 313 arrests and 454 contacts and wrote 141 warning tickets. The program is being operated from September through December this year. Troopers concentrate their efforts in high-accident, areas in the district, including Interstate 55 north of Illinois 23 in Livingston County: 1-55 from south of Bloomington to Towanda, Interstate 74 from Bloomington to LeRoy and U.S. 150 from LeRoy to 1-55 in McLean County; Interstate 57 from the Clifton exit to the Manteno exit, Illinois 50 from Kankakee to Manteno and U.S. 45 and I-57 in Kankakee County; and 1-57 in Iroquois and Ford counties.

PONTIAC Thirty-one District 6 Bloomington man held for assault A 35-year-old Bloomington man was in McLean County Jail early today in connection with an aggravated assault Saturday at Maxwell's Continental Cafe, 200 W. Front St. According to police, the incident began when the suspect entered the kitchen of Maxwell's about 6 p.m. and began arguing with an employee. The employee told police the man made sexual advances toward him.

The employee, a cook, said he was waving a butcher knife during the argument when he accidentally cut the man's arm, police said. The man left the restaurant, returning with a pistol, which he pointed at the employee, according to reports. Police arrested the man as he was leaving Maxwell's parking lot in his car. The man was treated for the knife wound Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital Medical Center and released.

Police said the incident is under and pending review of investigation, the cases by the state's attorney, both men may be charged with felonies. FORECASTS Central Illinois Cloudy and warmer today. Snow likely, possibly becoming mixed with rain. Highs upper 30s to low 40s. Mostly cloudy tonight.

Bloomington Marine gets promotion Robert Stufflebeam, son of Denise Stewart, Lot 11, 3rd Street, Greenwood Mobile Home Court, has been promoted from lance corporal to corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps. Stufflebeam, a 1980 graduate of Normal Community High School, joined the Marines in June 1980. He is stationed at Marine Corps Base Twentynine Stufflebeam Palms, Calif.

4-H BRIEFS The Clever Cloveretts 4-H club has elected officers for the 1981-82 club year.
