The February groundhog should be rounded up in advance by the consumers of coal and if threatens any serious a trouble he should be dispatched summarily. Fame is thrust on some men suddenly and apparantly without any previous warning. P.

Doblin, of New York, for example, who was unheard of week before last promises to go down in history a8 one of the monumental liars of this a age. The miner's convention at Indianapolis is working on the question of government by injunction possibly to the neglect et more important business. If the convention can the continuance of satisfactory relations between operators and employes that government by injunction bugaboo will disappear no more trouble. In Chicago able-bodled vagrants are reported to be carrying vials of nitroglycerin around on their persons to insure them from being unduly pounded by policemen. Of course the vagrant would be liberated along with the officer in the explosion that would follow when the cop's billy came in contact with the vial, but this would make little difference with the tramp, as the moral lesson in favor of gentler methods would still be in force.

A Springfield special gives the assurance that the house committees are all shaped up by Speaker Miller and will be announced in a few days. It is also stated with authority that ex-spaker Sherman and his friends will draw blanks, while the supporters of Mr. Miller will be rewarded. Just what means the correspondent has of knowing beyond what the public is in possession of is not stated but It is a fair inference that he is indulging in guess-work. Senator Teller of Colorado, whose reelection necording to latest reports will not be contested.

will be 73 years old next May. He will be nearly 79 at the completion of his term and will rank among the oldest members of the senate. One advantage Mr. Teller has had in his contest for re-election is the unqualified personal respect of the people of his state, without regard to party, That le powerful factor in any man's favor at time when polities does not give a clear bill of health to all our public men. It can at least be said of Mr.

Quay that he has a majority of the senate on his side. He has been accused of holding up that body and preventing the transaction of any other business until the omnibus statehood bill has been considered. And yet if that bill were put spon its passage a clear majority of the senators would vote for it. It would be more proper to say that the minority of the senate who are objecting to, a vote are blockading business than 10 put that responsibility upon Mr. Quay.

If the minority want business to proceed they can have their wish gratified at once by allowing a vote on the pending bill. Mr. Quay may not be right always but he seems to have reason and justice on his aide in this case. The eastern Democrats are rapidly uniting around the name of Judge Alton B. Parker of New York as their choice for preeident next year.

David B. Hill who was supposed to be unfriendly to the movement is now understood an giving St his full approval. Judge Parker will be acceptable to the south. so that the only element that might oppose him is in tHe west where the populist taint la not wholly removed. Interesting Experiment In a Restaurant. An advertising agent, representing a prominent New York magazine, while on recent western trip, was dining -one evening in a Pittaburg restaurant. While waiting for he his newspaper and noticearder advertisement glanced over of a well- known dyspepsia preparation, Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets; as he himself was regular user of the tablets he began speculating as to how many of the other traveling men in the dining room were also friends of the populat remedy for indigestion. He counted twenty three men at the tables and in the hotel office; I took the trouble to interview them and was surprised to learn that nine of the twenty-three made practice of taking one or two of Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets after each meal. of them toid me he had suffered so much from stomach trouble -that at one time he had been obliged to quit the road, but since using Stuart's Dyspepela Tableta had been entirely free from indigestion, but he continued their use, especially while traveling, on account of irregularity in meals and because like all traveling men he was often obliged to eat what he could get and not always what he wanted.

"Another, who looked the picture of health, said he never ate meal without taking Stuart tablet afterward, because he could eat what he pleased and when he pleased, without fear of a sleepless night or any other trouble. "Still another used them because he was subject to gAS on stomach, causing pressure on heart and lungs, shortness of breath and distress in chest, which he no longer experienced since using the tablets regularly. claimed that Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets was the only sate remedy he had ever found for sour stomach and acidity, He had formerly used common soda to relieve the trouble, but the tablets were much better and safer to After smoking, drinking or other excesses which weaken the digestive organs, nothing restores the stomach to a healthy, wholesome condition so effectually as Stuart's tablets. Stuart's Dyspepeia Tablets contain the natural digestives, pepsin, diastase, which every weak stomach lacks, as well as nux, hydrastin and yellow parilla, and can be safely relied as upon radical cure, for every form of poor digestion. Sold by druggista everywhere.
