(UPI) Vince Ferragamo threw two touchdown passes to bring ninth-ranked Nebraska from behind twice Saturday and spark the Cornhuskers to a 14-10 triumph over 12th-ranked Oklahoma State for first place in the rugged Big Eight Conference. Abby Daigle kicked a 37-yard field goal to give Oklahoma State a 3-0 halftime lead before Ferragamo hooked up with Churck Malito on a 35-yard pass in the third quarter to boost the Cornhuskers to a 7-3 advantage. But the lead was wiped out when Terry Miller, who rushed for 149 yards, shot threw the Husker defensive front and raced 15 yards for the Cowboys' only touchdown. Three minutes later, Ferragamo put Nebraska ahead to stay when he teamed with Ken Spaeth on a 7-yard pass into the Oklahoma State end zone.

Both teams committed numerous miscues, each turning'the ball over three times on fumbles and Nebraska suffering two interceptions and Oklahoma State one. The most costly of the Nebraska mistakes was a Bobby Thomas fumble in the first half on the Oklahoma State two after he caught a 23-yard pass from Ferragamo. Oklahoma State rushed for 291 yards, while holding Nebraska to only 121. (UPI) Cornerback Eric Felton intercepted Steve Bayuk desperation pass with one minute remaining Saturday to halt a last ditch Texas Christian drive and preserve fifth-ranked Texas Tech's 14-10 vjctory. Tech, led by quarterback Rodney Allison, built a quick 14-0 lead in the first quarter before Bayuk rallied the winless Frogs and brought them within nine yards of upsetting the Red Raiders. Allison took Tech to touchdowns on two of its first three possessions With 11:18 remaining in the first quarter, he dropped back and hit flanker Brian Nelson with aa tt-yard touchdown pass.

On the Raiders' next possession, the junior from Odessa engineered a 72-yard in 12 plays, scoring himself on a three-yard run. Allison's 16-yard run and a well executed pitchout to Larry Isaac on a 27-yard gain set up the score. Bayuk, filling in for regular Jimmy Dan Elzner who was out with a leg injury, pulled the Horned Frogs to within seven points with 10:14 in the half when he hit All-Southwest Conference receiver Mike Renfro. In the third quarter, Tech moved to the TCU one-yard-line, but on fourth-and-goal, TCU's Alan Tei-chelman and Jerry Gaigher sacked Allison for a 17-yard loss. Tech is 7-0 for the season and 4-0 in the conference..
