McConnell, the president of the defunct Merchants' National bank, committed suicide this afternoon by shooting. The deed was committed at the home of his brother-in-law, V. K. McDonald. He at once communicated them to United States Commissioner Li S. Williams, who issued a warrant for McConnell 's arrest.
