The majority of them do not anticipate a record vote despite strong emphasis on registration. About 17,500 names are on the voting registration lists and County Clerk Claude Tull declares there is considerable interest in absentee voting with 45 ballots actually returned and applications for 40 more in process of being sent applicants. Usually 350 absentee ballots are considered heavy but here again this figure is not anticipated.
