umnae Chapter Sets Awards Banquet Mrs Max Bolen will be in charge of the presentation of alumnae awards and scholarships at a banquet to be held by Sigma Alpha Iota El Paso Alumnae Chapter The annual affair will be held at 6:45 pm today In the University Suite of the Union Building Presidents and their chapters who will participate include Miss Lydia Louie College Chapter Epsilon Alpha: Mrs Olav Eidbo El Paso Patroness Group and Mrs Johnnie Losack El Paso Alumnae Chapter Social and program chairman is Mrs Bruce Hallmark who will introduce Leonard Sipiora guest speaker Mrs Martin Grothe vice president of Omicron Province in Albuquerque will be a special guest Decorations will be in the groups' colors of red and white Arrangements of red and white roses along with breath will be used Mrs Eidbo will present patroness awards and scholarships College awards win be presented by Miss Louie and Mr and Mrs Barry Eugene Melton (Miss Marsha Marie Seal) Newlyweds To Reside In Ohio The wedding of Miss Billie Sue Vaughan and James A Dunlap was solemnized at 7 pm on April 27 in First United Pentecostal Church Miss Vaughan is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Vaughan of 8515 Signal Peak and the parents are Rev and Mrs Chant Dunlap of Crooksville Ohio Officiating at the double ring rite were Rev Dunlap ed by Rev Ted Houlette Two stands securing pink and white candles adorned the altar area along with two baskets of white flowers Joel Wilkins sang Only Just and for the Other Both for the "Oh Promise and "Whither Thou was sung by Mrs Ted Houlette and Mrs Paul musical selections were entitled You and "Dedica-' Mrs Cruey was also accompanist with the organ THE father escorted her to the altar She wore a formal gown of white silk organza over peau de sole having a Victorian bodice and Juliet sleeves Appliques of Guipure lace adorn the bodice and full skirt which sweeps to chapel length A tiered veil of imported silk illusion is attached to a headpiece of fresh pink and white rosebuds and breath She carried a bouquet of pink and white rosebuds with lilies of the valley enhanced by ribbon streamers Mrs Clyde Clark of Salinas Calif served her sister as matron of honor Bridesmaids were Mrs Robert Hiatt of San 'Antonio the sister and iJrfrs Randy Steele of Austin 3 sister of the bridegroom The four year old sister Miss Christy Ann Vaughan attended her sister as1 miniature bride wearing a gown of white satin trimmed with lace fashioned by her mother and 1 a bandeau of white roses attached to a small veil of silk illusion Other attendants were attired in Victorian gowns of lilac nylon dotted swiss over taffeta with columns of floral design The matron of honor wore a lighter shade Each carried a white Bible topped with an orchid and white ribbon streamers CLYDE CLARK of Salinas served as best man men were Robert Hiatt of San Antonio the brother-in-law and Garrell Robinson of El Paso Mrs James A Dunlap (Miss Billie Sue Vaughan) Church Rite In Carlsbad Joins Couple Mr and Mrs Barry Eugene Melton are on a wedding trip through Nevada California and Arizona following their wedding held on April 14 in St Edwards Church of Carlsbad NM The bride was Miss Marsha Marie Seal daughter of Mr and Mrs Billy Ray Seal of Carlsbad and Mr parents are Mr and Mrs Doyle Melton of 4963 Marie Tobin drive Rev Immanuel Klump officiated at the double ring nuptial mass held at 3 pm with the altar area adorned with baskets of yellow and apricot hued chrysanthemums and floor candelabra garlanded with greenery and satin ribbon and holding tall yellow tapers As guests assembled Mrs Janet Miles at the organ played traditional wedding arias and accompanied Miss Deanna Nelson in singing THE BRIDE was given in marriage by her father She wore an empire fashioned floor length gown of white silk peau de soie overlaid with silk organza A pleated ruffle accents the high neckline and the hemline of the skirt which extends into a chapel train Her elbow length veil of French illusion fell from a floral caplet accented with pearl and crystal petals She wore an heirloom cameo necklace belonging to her mother Her cascade bouquet was of white carnations yellow roses apricot hued pompon chrysanthemums and gypsophelia Miss Deanna Nelson of Carlsbad served as maid erf honor and Miss Janice Melton of El Paso sister of the bridegroom was the bridesmaid They wore flock dotted gowns with ruffled hemlines and carried bouquets of roses daisies and carnations Candlelighters were the Misses Gerianne and Pamela Seal sisters of the bride They wore matching gowns of yellow Suzi Melton and Ricky Melton niece and nephew of the bridegroom served as flower girt and ringbearer KEN MELTON of El Paso served his brother as best man and Ronnie Kastner of Alamogordo was the groomsman Ushers included Bob Beazley and Sam Mexa both of El Paso Steve Seal brother of the bride was lector The mother chose to wear a beige and apricot knit costume suit with beige accessories and the mother appeared in poudre blue knit with white accessories They both wore corsages of yellow carnations A reception in the Ramada Inn in Carlsbad followed the wedding Assisting with party courtesies were Mmes Mark Long Ray Rogers Roscoe Rousche McNeal Holder and Dick Force all of Carlsbad Following their wedding trip the couple will make their home in El Paso while the bridegroom completes i studies at the University of Texas at El Paso THE BRIDE attended New I Mexico State University in Las Cruces and the University of Texas at El Paso In addition to the wedding party1 out of town guests included Mr and Mrs Arts and Letters Group To Hold Red Rose Dinner Simpson Mrs Max Bolen Mrs Royal Jones Mrs Grothe will install alumpae officers 1972-73 Alumnae
