Fredericksens hold family reunion July 8 annual eriksert family reunion was held at the Ivan Frederiksefi farm home Sunday, July 8th wfth a pot luck dinner being held at noon. Eighty-one persons attended with all hut two of the 14 children being present Hoi- ger of Marshalltown, who was in the hospital, and Gus and his family of Anaheim, Calif. Towns represented wore Worthington and Jeffers, Thor, DCS Moines, Fort Dodge, Clare, Ottosen, Bradgate, Stuart, Estherville, Livermore and Anaheim, Calif. Mr and Mrs R. Christiansen and son of Manson were dinner guests in the Dale Joiner home Sunday, bringing Sharon, home after a week's visit.

Weaver Hewitt returned home with his niece and husband, Mr tmd Mrs LaVonne Riley of Sioux City, where he will make an extended visit Mr end Mrs Culvert Johnson were callers in the Charles Logue home in Algona one evening last week. Mr and Mrs Lawrence Frederiksen and Inar of Bradgate, Mr and Mrs Ivan Frederiksen and Mr and. Mrs Chuck Wheaton of Anaheim, enjoyed a trip to Ingham lake one evening last week. Dinner end supper, guests in the Norman Scott home on Sunday were Mr and Mrs Gordon Scott and family of Storm Lake, Mrs Robert Scott and Mrs Virgie Allan of, Algona. Their grandson Richard will spend the week with them.

Thursday visitors in the home of Mrs Johanna Smith were her sister from St Paul and. her son and four children of Chicago, and another sister, Marie Halligan and Ernie Widen of Garner. An overnight visitor on Friday was her brother, Steve Halligan of Blue Earth, Minn. Sunday dinner guests were Mr 1 and Mrs Pierre Aubrun of Vincent. Mrs Smith and Mrs Aubrun became acquainted while they were both in the hospital.

Mr end Mrs Virgil Herzberg and small sons, Gregg and Kevin, accompanied by Mr and Mrs Perry Smith and Diane drove to Shenandoah on Saturday where they visited friends and former neighbors of the Herz- bergs. Saturday they drove to' Red 'Oak and stayed overnight at the home of Mrs Herzberg's mother, Mrs Dag Nickolas. On Sunday they drove to Villisca to visit Mr Herzberg's parents, Mr and Mrs Oscar Herzberg. Tuesday visitors in the Forbus Stiltz home were Mrs Stiltz's niece and nephew, Mrs Richard McDowell of Dawson, Iowa, and Mark Schore of Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, who is in the air corps.

From here they went on to Butt to visit other relatives. Mr end Mrs Forbus Stiltz accompanied Mr Stiltz's sister and husband, Mr and Mrs Delbert Vogel of Bancroft, to Taylorville, Friday morning where they visited their father, the Sherman Stiltz home until On they attended the Hott family reunion at Decatur. 111. Edwerd Melevin of Chicago spent the past week visiting at the Elmer Gronbach home. On Wednesday he and daughter Mary, Connie Christiansen, and, Mrs Gronbach went to Wisconsin where they visited friends at LaCrosse and Mary's grandfather at Viroqua, Wis.

Committees were appointed for the Dish Stand and Pet Parade for the annual celebration on July 29th and 30th and for the chicken dinner to be served July 19th Bunco was played with prizes being won by Lucille Gronbach, Dora Gronbach and Molly Foth.

WEDDINO Mrs John Olson, Mrs Carl Olson, Mrs Guy Raney, Johnny and Phillip Faith, attended the wedding of their niece and sister Mary Faith of Madison, and Robert Kluever of Stoughton, at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning July 3rd at the Lutheran church in Whittemore. Their attendants were Mr and Mrs John Eller of Algona, sister of the bride. A reception was held at the home of the bride's grandparents, Mr and Mrs Wm. Carney of Algona afterwards.

The couple plan to live at Stoughton, Wis. The bride made her home with the Art Olson family at Madison, during her school years. The past year she has been taking nurses training. BIRTHDAY PARTY A birthday party was held at. the Lester Smith home Tuesday afternoon in honor of Mrs Smith and Mrs Forbus Stiltz.

Attending were Mrs Amelia Hoffmann and granddaughter of California, Mrs Martha King, Mrs Mildred Raney, Mrs Mildred Frederick and' Mrs Ruby A social was spent with gifts being presented to the honored guests. A pot luck lunch was served. AT REUNION Mr and Mrs Henrj Groh and John and Gary Erdmann and Mr and. Mrs John Groh of Lu- Verne attended the Groh family reunion at Clear Lake on Sunday. One of the highlights of the afternoon was a talk by a niece and her husband, Mr and Mrs Maynard Darrow, who with their three children have been missionaries in.Seoul, Korea for the past five years.

About 125 were in attendance. TO WORLD'S FAIR Mrs Jessamine Miller and Anna Murray have gone on an extended vacation trip, leaving by bus from Fort Dodge. They will visit a sister at Seattle, and also attend the fair, also stopping enroute at St. Paul, Moorhead, and in Montana to visit other relatives and friends. U.

It had been 20 years since they had all been together, when Stanley went into service. It was held at Virgil Ehockson's, West Bend, and present were Mrs Rena Enockson, the Stanley Enocksons, Milwaukee, Herman Ludwigs, Wilmington Farrell Enocksons, Minneapolis, Russell Enocksons, Plover, and Mrs LeRoy Kleppe and sons of Eagle Grove. The Chester Almes and Alfred Schultzes attended a reunion at Darrel Brugman's, Webb, Sunday. The Gary Coopers and Nancy Cooper went to Denver, a week ago for a vacation. Gary Cooper got a job with the Continental Airlines and remained there.

The women came on home. Monday the Donald Coopers, Nancy Cooper, and Mrs Gary Cooper moved the Gary Coopers to Denver. The Rev Harold Mountains attended the challengers club picnic at Fort Dodge Sunday. The Dr Donald Wehrspanns, Joliet, 111., came Sunday for a vacation at the lakes. Margaret Holt went with them for a few days.

W. S. C. S. HOSTESS Mrs Ray Falb was hostess to the W.

S. C. S. of the Methodist church Wednesday morning at 9:30 at the church serving a brunch. Dorothy Vaughn gave the devotions and Mrs Lloyd Larson, of LuVerne was guest sneaker.

A new member. Mrs Swisher of Bode, joined the W. S. C. S.

SPUDS For the second straight year, red potatoes from the garden of Mrs Gilbert Florman of Jefferson have produced "new potatoes" early in the summer in an unusual way. Several of 'the potatoes have split open and out pop bright red new potatoes. Last year one of the potatoes had seven new "spuds" inside of it.

COWS Two Guernsey cows owned by John Rilev of near McGreeor were killed recently bv liehtnin? as they were standing under a tree during a storm. The lightning struck the tree, rinping a three to four inch strip of bark off the side of the tree. ANNIVERSARY Newcomers to the Humeston communi- tv are Mr and Mrs Grant McCoy who have established residency at Jones' boarding home. Mr McCov, 98 and his wife. 94, observed their 76th wedding anniversary in January of this year.

DRIVER Elmer Svendsen recently completed his last trip after serving the Alta Community school as a bus driver for the past 20 years. In his 20 years of safe driving. Elmer has covered some 270.000 miles, has transported about 800 children to and from school each morning and night. 50 Andrew Bell, a Denison attorney, has practiced law for 50 years. He has always practiced in Denison except during his four years as State Senator when he was there only part time.

He has also served 20 years as Crawford County Attorney. INJURED Steve Carmean of Lake City suffered a punctured right lung, a fractured right leg and multiple deep lacerations all over his body recently when he was thrown under a rotary hoe attached to the tractor he was driving. SISTERS Miss Ann Hear- don, who has served as post master at Auburn for the past 45 years and her sister, Ida Reardon, clerk and assistant in the post office there 47 years, have retired with a combined record of 93 years of service.
