Other officers elected were Neal Robb, vice president; Mrs. Amye Leif, secretary, and Mrs. Francis Petrie, treasurer. • Mrs. Herbert Peterson, the librarian, reported a circulation of 1,143 books and other items for the month of April. She also announced that seven hew books have been added to the library shelves. They include: New Windsor Calvary Lutheran Church's Junior Luther League. The program included a skit, a baton routine, poetry readings, piano solos, a clarinet solo, dance routines and a vocal duet presented by the league members. To $7,700 AlWood Unit Board Okays Base Pay Boost of $100 ALPHA - AlWood School District 225 Board of Education, at a meeting May 16, approved increasing the base pay for teachers by $100 to $7,700 a year. The agreement adds approximately 5V2 per cent to the balance of the district's pay schedule and provides for a $106 increase in health insurance premiums. Ray Dunn, coordinator of the Galesburg Area Vocation Center, explained the program and plans for the coming year. Board members indicated inter cises will be May 30, and Al­ Wood High School graduation will be June 1. Miss Kerry Thomas, Australian exchange student at AlWood High School, presented a book and map of her homeland to the school library at a recent dinner for school board and ministration served by home economics classes. Don Metzger, high school principal, received the gifts on behalf of the school.
