follow his footsteps He seems to realize that people will form brotherly comparisons and he accepts that fact Yet when the comparisons stretch to the football field Anthony Jones is his own man There however he does not follow in another's footsteps as much as he may live in another's shadow whether he likes it or not You see George Floyd may be on the roster of the NFL's New York Jets these days but his spirit echoes in the Colonel football record book where the former All-American rover-back can be found no less than eight times In Richrnond fans would have you believe that Floyd intercepted George Washington's toss across the Delaware "At the beginning of the season people were pulling for me wanting me to make a lot of intercept ions because George made so many" Jones said "They expected me to play like him but they've gotten away from that now "I never try to pull any of George's tricks I just try to be Anthony and play the best I know how" In seven games this season Anthony Jones has intercepted three passes And while Floyd's shadow will remind him that the school record was set last year by you-know-who with 10 Colonel secondary coach Jack Ison will remind him of several important factors To begin with Ison mentioned that Jones never played the rover-back position until this past spring when he was moved from cornerback "He's basically a freshman at the
