The Republicans carried the election by a good majority, putting in tlieir candidate, George Kinkade, over tbe opposing Democratic candidate, Emmett Wayland. Lewis Wayland has sold tbe old Six house to George Usher of Way-land, who has a Keokuk moving company moving the house onto the forty acres of land he recently purchased from the Wolf heirs. Mr. Usher has had a well bored on his property, striking water in less than a day of boring. He plans to move from Keokuk and occupy the house when it is ready.

Raymond Mayfield continues to be in very poor health. He was taken to Keokuk one day this week for on X-ray but la again at the M. L. Wllsey home. with his family.

He has taken up the agency for the McConnon Product and will soon be on the road to work, so be ready for him for he has a wonderful stock of products. Thurston and Elsie Gibbs visited at the Wm.

Wm. Mattocks received word Tuesday morning that Will Roberts had passed away at his home near Memphis Monday. Funeral was at the home Wednesday afternoon at I o'clock, with burial In the Memphis cemetery. Mrs. Alta Nichole and children spent Sunday evening at the Rose heme.
