any carriages at the depot to carry them to the mansion where they had been invited by Goyernor Buckner So they all had to crowd into an old omnibus along with a lot of passengers who were to go to South Frankfort The driver of this is not endowed with any too much sense and instead of taking Mr Brown and family direct to Governor which was only a square from the depot he drove them over to South Frankfort with the other passengers and then brought them back over the to the mansion This was certainly ROUGH TREATMENT of the new family upon their first arrival in the city and the Escort newly elected members of the next Legislature and the scene last night in the lobby of the Capital Hotel where every one was button-holeing every one else reminded one of some exciting State without fail Everyone had something to say about the Speakership race which by the way 1 IT IS GETTING VERY HOT It is the impression of the majority here that Harvey Meyers is not in it and the race will be between Moore of Harrison and Tom Petti tt of Daviess with the chances in favor of Pettitt Should Pettitt be elected Urey Woodson the pleasant little editor of the Owensboro Messenger would go wild Urey says however that Pettitt the least show in the world of being elected but then Urey said Pettitt be elected to the Legislature and yet he was by over 800 majority so sly Thomas may pull the
