The live, open-ended program will begin at 8 p.m. and go until the last viewer question is answered. Doctors, nurses and health experts from the area will be on-hand to handle the questions in an open, honest manner.

Fifteen telephone lines manned by high school students will make it possible to handle calls efficiently and quickly. The local number will be 8688681. Those living outside the local telephone exchange will have a special number they can dial for toll free calls. To reach this free connection viewers will have to First dial their long distance access number and then 800-3620021. THE TELETHON will be divided into the four general topic acreas of gonorrhea, syphilis, help and services, and human sexuality.

During the first two topic areas viewers will be encouraged to ask any question about the two most common veneral diseases such as what are the symptoms, how do you test for each disease, how are they treated, and what complications can develop if they go untreated. The third area will give callers information about where they can go for help. The main point to be covered during this segment is the confidentiality used by physicians and health clinics when collecting in- formation. Guest moderator for the first three topic areas will be Pat Rogers from WRffi Radio. ONCE ALL questions covering the medical aspects of VD have been answered, guest host Bob Cannon from WWYN Radio's "Contact" program will tackle the related moral issues.

He will moderate a panel of resource people who will offer opinions about such topics as premarital sexual relations, values and attitudes toward sexuality', planned parenthood, and abortion. They will begin by attempting to answer the question, "Why do we have a VD epidemic in Northwest In addition viewers will be encouraged to call in questions or New Club Plans Made N1CKLEVILLE A new 4-H horse and pony club is being organized. The first meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Nickleville Hall. Any interested persons between the ages of 9 and 19 are invited to attend.

Attending will be a group of interested former 4-ffers who are interested in helping to teach young riders how to train horses in proper show techniques. This club as of present does not have a name. Anyone having suggestions should bring them to the first meeting. Parents of interested youths are asked to attend with their children if possible. give their own opinions.

SERVING AS eiecutive producer of the telethon is Dick Ragan, coordinator or the ITV Council in Erie. The council provides a wide variety of classroom television programs to fifteen member school districts in Erie and Crawford Counties. John Donnelly, health educator for the Erie County Department of Health, is also serving on the planning committee akng with Mrs. Norma Browand, health educator for the Pennsylvania Department of Health Meadville office. Others assisting in the planning are Bruce Payette, director of Learning Services at Gannon College; Mrs.

Janet Grossman, teacher of Family Life Education at Iroquois High School; and a committee of 40 high school students. THE STUDENTS have come up with a number of good ideas to promote the telethon including the handing out of 7,000 buttons with the slogan "Let's Get Information." They have also been distributing 1,000 posters as well as getting the word to students in their schools through assemblies, student newspaper articles, and public address announcements. The students will also handle most of the job assignments during the telethon such as answering telephones, sorting questions, serving refreshments, and parking cars.
