are on furlough at the present time Lotumbe is a settlement of about 1000 Congolese and is situated approximately 80Q miles east of the mouth of the Congo River With the help of a ham radio (called by the Congolese) and a small airplane Dr Ross is able to treat many people by going to them and when necessary bringing them back to the hospital He also helps operate a rural dispensary and leprosarium
