18 Golesbum Renjgfer- Fairview Campers Return Home FAIRVIEW - Miss Linda Ludwig, daughter of Mrs. Mary Ludwig, and Miss Wanda Corsaw, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mel Corsaw, returned Sunday from attending Camp Augustana at Lake Geneva, Wis. Mrs. Zona Hand of Pomona, Calif., is visiting relatives and friends in Fairview. Mr. and Mrs. Donavon McMahon and family of Tucson, Ariz., are here for an extended visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otis McMahon. Mrs. Grace Marston of Texas is visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Masocco. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Haffey of Carthage were Sunday callers in the home of Mrs. Ethel Vin Camp. Miss Eleanor Wilson of Milwaukee, Wis., is visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Fisher and Susan. Miss Margaret Bolender visited a few days with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dean, Bolender and family in Waterman. Mrs. Fannie Polhemus assisted in the Bolender home during her absence. Everett Hightower was dismissed from the Graham Hospital Saturday. Mrs. Bernice White of London Mills visited her mother, Mrs. Nell Lindstrom Sunday. In the afternoon they called on Mr. and Mrs. Louis Lindstrom at We Ma-Tuk. Mrs. Victor Longest of Wilmington, is spending this week in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cyphers. She was called here due to the illness of her father. Mrs. Mae Hatten of Galesburg, Mr. and Mrs. George Van Houten and family of Fairfield, Iowa, were weekend visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Harden. Patty Van Houten went home with her parents and David remained for a longer visit. Mrs. Ina Phipps of Farmington spent the weekend in the home of J. W. Lindstrom and family and Berwyn Phipps and family. Mrs. Julia Rohn is visiting this week in Rushville with relatives. Mrs. Pauline Lichtenberger and Mrs. Bertha Longeven of St. Paul, Minn., spent the weekend in the home of Mr. and Mrs Cleve Butler. Miss Lorraine Bolender of Waterman visited her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bolender from Friday until Sunday. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Bolender brought her and Margaret Bolender to Fairview Friday from Waterman. Set Family Picnic The HEA annual family picnic will be held in the Fairview Park Aug. 21. The Legion Auxiliary recently met. Eva Frame, assisted by Erma Hagey, was in charge of rehabilitation. The group made 154 tray favors and sent them to Veterans Hospital in Quincy. New Windsor Group Hears Trip Review NEW WINDSOR — Mrs. Russell Swanson described the 6-week tour of Europe which she and her mother, Mrs. Lillian Oberg took in 1962, at the meeting of the Martha Society Aug. 8. Included with the commentary were slides and films taken on the tour and many articles purchased by the pair in different countries were on display. The program announced by Mrs. Herbert Peterson also included a Swedish vocal solo by Mrs. Oberg; a vocal duet by Rev. and Mrs. Paul Holmer with Mrs. Arthur Willems accompanist and a reading by Mrs. Myrtle Thompson. The opening devotions were conducted by Mrs. Herbert Peterson. The Rev. Mr. Holmer announced the Martha Society was invited to attend guest day at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Aledo Sept. 5 at 2:30 p.m. Mrs. Roy Peterson contributed to the birthday fund. Hostesses were Mrs. Myrtle Thompson, Mrs. Walter Nelson and Mrs. Franklin Stevenson. Basutoland, a British protectorate in the middle of the Republic of South Africa, is now the favorite asylum for political refugees from the republic.
