Tuesday, $, 19S4 Offer Funds In County For y. , ' • .. .• Conservation Funds a*e available in Kossuth county to assist a number of farmers to establish needed con* servation practices before the close of the year, it was announc* edjlast week by R. I, Anderson, chairman of the county ASC com* nuttee. , He declared a' great amount ot Valuable soil and water conservation can be accomplished in the next 60 to 90 days if farmers will promptly take advantage. of the opportunity offered them through the federal cost-sharing plan commonly known as ACP. Farmers themselves, he said, should be able to devote considerable time to such work in the next couple of months and in addition they will find extra workers and required materials are available , 'how. " Chairman Anderson urged farrriers interested in carrying out cost-sharing work this fall to make inquiry at the county ASC office at once and to file theft' requests at the earliest possible time. The county committee, ho said, will meet every Monday to consider all requests on file. Several types of work which can be done this fall and which are especially Heeded on many farms in this county are included in the list of approved ACP practices on which the government Will share the cost. Among these practices are the spreading of limestone where a soils test shows the need, construction of terraces, tiling, land leveling and earth work on sod waterways. In the case of a sod- waterway, the seeding would probably be delayed approved. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried. Motion by C. H. Newel and seconded by H. S.
