Algona JAN. 18, 1962 Kossuth ALGONA, Advance Funeral of Mrs. Lunn is at Swea City Swea City Funeral services for Mrs Vern (Gladys Maria) Lunn were held Tuesday at the Immanuel Lutheran church with Rev Leroy Pillman ating. Burial was in Harrison township cemetery. Mrs Lunn was 'born Feb.

16, 1907, at Swea City, daughter of Nellie and Frank Wm. ster. She was educated at Swea City. Vern and Gladys Luhn were married Jan. 2, 19- 26, at Mankato, and they made their home here.

She is survived by her husband; 3 brothers, Oliver and Virgil, Swea City; Robert, Center; a sister Mrs Gene (Irene) Fagerlund, City. "Two aunts and an uncle, Dave, Swea City, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Jan, Svensen, exchange student at Armstrong, spoke Monday night at the PTA with 40 present despite the cold and snow. Portland Mrs. Victor Fitch The Portland Social club met Thursday atternoon, Jan, 11, in the home of Mrs Joseph Arend.

Eight members were present. Roll call was paying of dues. Those attending. were Alleda Harms, Mamie Mitch, Hazel Larsen, Edith Jandl, Effie Teeter, Livira Christensen, Joseph Arend and Lampe. Mrs Mary Kain, of Algona, was a guest at the meeting.

Alleda was in charge of the program. Several won' prizes. A lunch was served by the hostess at the close of the meeting. 'The next meeung will be held Thursday afternoon, Feb. 8, in the home 01 Mrs Alleda Harms.

The Portland Progress club will meet Thursday afternoon, Jan. 19th, in the home of Mrs Lawrence Govern. The lesson will be "Skills with the Skillet," brought to us by Mrs Lawrence Govern and Mrs" Victor ritch. Mr and Robert Wood and Jean were Sunday evening visitors in the W. A.

Mr and Mrs Quinten Bjustrom and Mr and. Mrs Jim Lindhorst and daughter Rhanda were Sunday dinner guests in the Edmund Larsen home. Mr and Mrs Wendell Christensen are the parents of a boy, born Saturday morning, Jan. 13, weighing 9 lb. 6 oz.

He has not been named at this tine. Lawrence Govern is in bed this week with a bad case of the fiu. Mr and Mrs Howard Sparks visited. Sunday evening in the Bill Tjaden home. Mr and Mrs Rex Wolf of Fenton visited their daughter and family, the Jack Tiemans, and were Sunday evening supper guests in the Tieman, home.

Mrs Frank Becker and Mrs Victor Fitch went to Algona Monday afternoon to get the lesson, "Skills with the Skillet," to be demonstrated at the land Progress club next Thursday afternoon, in the home of Mrs Lawrence Govern. Mr Meyer will come to Lone Rock in June. William Christenson and A. A. Krueger were newly elected to serve as elders for a three year term. Willis Cotton, Mer: vyn Christenson and Art Per son were Delmar Fischer is a new trustee to serve a term of three years.

Services for lifelong area resident held Funeral services for Mrs John Zeller, 70, life-long area resident, were held Monday in St. Cecelia's Catholic church here. The Rev. Msgr. P.

P. Gearen officiated at the requiem mass, and burial was in the cemetery at St. Joe. The Hamilton funeral home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs Zeller died Thursday at St.

Ann hospital in Algona where she had been a patient for one day. She was born Margaret Origer at St. Joe to Nicholas and Mary Arend Origer. She married John Zeller, June 17, 1923, and the couple farmed at Joe until 1957 when they retired and moved to Algona. Zeller's survivors 'clude her husband; two sons, inAlfred Zeller of Bode and Bernard Zeller of Ottosen; a sister, Mrs Kate Hess of Dubuque and a brother, John Origer of Bode.
