"wedge" but this was not true Yale does not employ the "wedge" What really happened was that Sheridan in making wild dive for the ball carrier struck his head on his opponent's hip and thus suffered the fatal injury Do not misunderstand me I'm not trying to minimize the chances for injury to participants of the gridiron sport I'm trying to get over the fact that the rules committee is doing every possible sane thing to reduce the injury hazard to a minimum I'm also trying to prove too many casualties are charged against football that do not in many instances result from football at all To play the game correctly with a fair chance of withstanding its rigorous demands on the physique the participant must get into good condition and stay in condition throughout the season and the off season too!
