The exercises of the morning were the crowning of the May Queen with an addition out of the usual order. Just as the King was about to place the crown upon the Queen's head, the Fairy Queen with her train came forward witb a crown of wild wood flowers and begged the privilege of placing it on the May Queen's head. The exercises-were accompanied with singing and tpassed off pleasantly. The children 'performed their parts with great credit, as they always have done when brought before the public.

At the close of these exercises, the young people, accompanied by several gentle-men, repaired to the shooting grounds, where they tried their skill at rifle Shooting. Mr. Meda bad prepared prizes for shooting and running. Seven were made happy by winning. Then followed the running by the' boys, in which others were made equally happy.

Next in order was an excellent lunch, supplied almost wholly by Mr. Me-dan'a generosity. Then came races by the girls, the successful ones carrying off their prizes in great glee. Then game mingled witb the unrestrained laughter of the children, which made those who were looking on almost forget bow many years were between them and their childhood. Then came a summons to another repast of coffee, chocolate, cake and strawberries.
