council's Monday meeting agenda Two separate proposals were filed for the fiscal yearthatstarts July 1 One was from the Gridley Police Officers Association representing police officers and departmental clerical workers The other was signed hy em-ployees in the Pnblic Works City Clerk Finance and Fire departments The latter also included the requests of Evdene Payne finance director-city derk Marvin Scott fire chief and JdbpDonnahoepoliceddef The multi-departmental proposal is for workers not aligned with any employee association It asks a 15 percent cost-of-Uving raise an additional floating holiday city payment of any increases inhealth or dei The police request asks for a 20 percent costaf-Uving raise workers to be able to accumulate an unlimited amount of compensating time off instead of the present 40-bour limitation with a lump sum payment for unused compensating time once a year and city payment of increased costs for health and dental coverage- Although separate requests have been filed the council in the past has maintained a policy of grading the same percentages and benefits to all city workers In a memorandum to the council Mrs Payne estimated 15 percent raises for the year would cost the cy $131362 including additional costs for retirement unemployment insurance and other assessments based on wages A20 percent raise she estimated on tiie same basis
