Marjoric Henderson, Barbara Weiner and Carol Weiner. There were 49 children enrolled in the Vacation Bible school at. Presbyterian church.

A program was presented by the students Friday evening and about 60 persons attended a picnic dinner at Call park, Algona. Seventy-live youngsters were enrolled in the. Bible School at St. John's Lutheran church. A program wa.s presented Friday evening.

The picnic was held on Sunday, starting with a pot luck dinner, followed by games in the afternoon. Mr. Otto Baganz furnished harp music at Ihc services Sunday. Linen Shower iA linen shower for Barbara Dreyer of Tripoli and Jim McMullen of DCS Moincs was held Tuesday evening at the -Methodist church. Decorations were in orchid and pink.

Doris Keith had charge of the Guest Book. Jane McMullen assisted with gifts. A flute duct was prayed by Judy Hinckley and Shirley Schwieteri. A reading was by Mary Jean Andrews, and a vocal solo was by Mary Keith. The wedding will be June 10 at Des Monies.

George Hawcoll Ronald Gerber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Gerber, Algona, it stationed at Lakehurst. N. J.

He will be there until Sept. 3 attending an airographer school. Gerber, who entered the navy Dec. 6, took his basic training at San Diego. Before going to Lake- nursi, He attended a general school at Norman, which qualified him to attend the at Lakehurst.

ANNUAL MISSION FETIVALHELD BY LAKOTANS LAKOTA The annual Mission festival of St. Paul's Lutheran church was observed Sunday June lo. The morning spcaKc was the Rev. August Baetke of Wartburg college. Prof.

Baetke is head of the department of sociology. Prior to receiving this position he was chaplain in the Lutheran hospital at Milwaukee Wis. 1 The evening speaker was E. A Muir of the Crmpied Cnimren's school at Jamestown, N. D.

He aptly explained the work among the crippled children there. Ai the present time, they have students from 4 to 25 years of age. and in all grades, high school. i and a two year business schoo'. Mr.

Muir, who is crippled him- jself, is at the present time ex! plaining the work of the school I in various parts of Iowa. I A division of the Ladies Aid served a supper luncheon in the 'parish hall tor the guests. The senior choir sang special numbers at both services. This is the las! Gerald Angus, Mrs. Harold Angus, Toni Angus, Mrs. Wayne Mann attended the Commencement at Drake university. Claude Whitehill received his MS in Education degree. He will be superintendent of schools at Greelev next year and the family will move from ColesbUrg- soon.

All are married and living except Paul, who died a year ago. The Cadwicks and Mrs. Dommeick are staying in an Al- gona motel and are visiting rela- i lives and friends here. At Madison, Mrs. Fowler took the bus to return to her home. Mrs. Cuneo will spend more time with her mother and other relatives here and then she and her mother are going to take a trip west. On this sight sceint 1 trip they traveled about 1500 miles.

At Celebration Mr. and Mrs. V. A. Barrett and children visited from Thursday until Sunday with his sister Mrs.

Frank Fitzgerald and family at Lime Springs. Saturday they attended the 98th Old Settlers celebration at Chester, Mr. Barrett's home town. Enroute home Sunday they stopped at the Rev. Wm.

Grace Bruer, Buffalo Center, has arrived at the home of her son Pete Bruer and wife, where she will now make her home. Dr. H. H. Murray and daughter Kay left Monday for a weeks fishing trip to Canada.

CLUB NEWS New Officers for i Ledyard Band Club i LEDYARD The Music i Boosters met for short busi- ness meeting following the band concert last week Wednesday i evening. Ted Wallentine and treasurer, Mrs. jTed Green. Harold Armstrong of Fairmont, has charge of the band this summer while Mr. Canfield is at summer school. Another band concert will be held June i 20th and there will be two in ijuly.

A bake sale was held following the concert, last week and I netting about $27.00. Loits Creek Lassies. The Lotls Creek Lassies met May 24 with Mary Walker. Fifteen members were present. Carol Anliker gave a demonstration on how to make a waste paper basket.

Folowing Ithc meeting the members listened to 4-H rec- ci.ds and danced. Mrs. Walker served the lunch. Lois Besch, reporter. New Officers for Burl Legion Group A regular joint meeting of the Legion and Auxiliary was held Tuesday evening in the? Legion hall.

Ice Cream, Pic, Coffee and Pop Move to Dyersville Frances Kcrker and family moved Monday to their new home at Dyersville. Mr. Kerker was transferred there the first of February, but the family remained here until now because of housing conditions. Mr. Kerker is the area manager for Interstate Power, there.

He was the Interstate man here for over 5 years. First Band Concert The first band rehearsal and concert was held this week Monday and Wednesday nights respectively. Each of these nighti members received a treat from their director. Mr. Barrett.

If any business places or individuals would like to do this some week, the members would appreciate it. F. B. Homemakers Ledyard twp. Farm Bureau Homemakers met Friday nt one o'clock for a pot luck dinner at Union Slough.
