EXCESS PROFITS LEVY PUSHED Compromise Looms On Tax Hike Bill Aug. 31. A compromise aimed at blasting the deadlock on a corporation excess profits tax was promised in the Senate tocay. could clear the way for speedy action on the $4.508,000,000 'general tax-boosting bill. Chairman George 'D-Gai of the Senate finance committee said he will a compromise.
