STILL FOR SOUND MONEY. Only Township Carried ky Palmer Four Yean Ago Still Loyal. Dudley township, Haskell court ty, was the only township in the United States to give a majority of its vote for the gold democratic ticket in the presidential election four years ago. It went for I'almcrand Buckncr by a vote of 2 to because there were only three voters in the township to cast ballots. And thus Dudley township, Haskell county, Ieacd into fame.

One of the three voters of this remarkable place was in Kansas City last night Henry Haskiiu at the Ccntropolis. He said that the prospects were that the township in question would still lo loyal to the country's credit this year, as the two men who voted for sound money then would vote for McKinley this year, and the one voter who cast his ballot for Ilryan four years ago, had been converted also. So that this year, if all goes well, Dudley township, Haskell county, will cast its solid vote for the republican ticket. Kansas City Journal. The County Campaign.

Messrs Thomas F. Otley, candidate for Prosecuting Attorney and Cameron Orr, candidate for Representative in 2nd district have completed a thorough and vigorous campaign of the county, shaking in nearly every town and village and holding several school house meetings. Only one date remains that at Marshall, to be announced later. Messrs Otley and Orr made their assignments together, the former speaking upon national issues, while the latter treated state politics. They were well received in all patts of Saline, addressing at nearly all points well filled and enthusiastic houses.

They report the Republicans of the county as wide awake, active and strong in their support of the party's nominees and principles. The Republicans of Saline should appreciate the time and lalmr of Ixjth of these young men, who have for the past month rendered the party valuable service in their campaigning. Hon. S. F.

O'Fallon. Hon. S. F. O'Fallon, candidate for Attorney General in this state, and one of the most popular of Re- pub'icau campaigners, will speak in the Circuit Court room at Marshall, next Thursday afternoon Oct.

25th at 2:00 o'clock. From here he will be taken to Malta Bend, speaking there the evening of the same day. The Republicans of Saline county should attend this meeting, as the speaker assigned for this date is thoroughly versed upon state issues and vigorously arraigns the Jefferson City machine, for its extragagancc and incapacity. The favor with which he has been received is proven in the calls received for him from every part of this state. The people arc clamoring to know the truth of the charges that are Iwing made mid Mr.

O'Fallon is well fortified in every argument he makes, Herndon Organizes. HMVI to Hl'piltllll'llll. Herndon, Mo. Oct. 17th, 1900.

Thos. F. Otley, candidate for Prosecuting attorney of Saline addressed a large and attentive audience at this place, Monday night, at 7:30 o'clock, on the main issues of the day. Mr. Otley sjwke for nearly two hours and kept his hearers very much interested all the time.

He also interspersed his remarks with a good story now and then which illustrated his points, as well as keeping his hearers in good humor. After the close of his speech, the Republicans organized a McKinley-Roosevelt and Flory club with a membership of 40, and electing W. F. Clayconib, president, and R. N.

Taylor, secretary. The club meets every Monday night. Iixpcct to double membership by next meeting night and will send full list of names next week. Club meetings will be open for everybody who wishes to attend. Will have speaking at next meeting and probably at future uitctings.

Respectfully, Rout. N. Taylor, Secretary. Ridge Prairie Rally. The Republicans of Blackwater township ami many of the Democrats of that voiumuuity turned out as a body lo the Ridge Prairie rally on Wednesday evening.

The school house was packed to the doors und a more enthusiastic audience has not assembled in this campaign. The speakers were Dr. M. T. Chastain and Hon.

Thomas F. Otley, who were frequently interrupted with applause. Ridge Prairie has a wide-a-wakc Republican organization called the Flory-Parsons Club, whose mem-berhip are confident they will make a good showing on November fit Kemper, Hi Missouri Valley, 15. The result of the foot ball game between Kemper and M. V.

C. appears to be in controversy, but it' is stated by our boys that the referee affirms the score to be 15 to 1 1 in favor of M. V. C. That should settle the matter, if the game is to be under the direction of officials or governed by rules.

The point of controversy is over a touch-down made by Adams in the first half, who secured the ball at M. V. 25-yard line on a fumble and made a touch down through an 85-yard run. Following is the account as cent out by a Boouvillc reporter: "Boonvillc, October 15. The Missouri Valley College team, of Marshall, played the Kemper Military School eleven, of this place, this afternoon, and after two stubbornly contested halves had been completed, were defeated, 1 1 to 10.

Kemper was the first to score, securing two touchdowns, from which one goal wrs kicked. The visitors scored one in the first half, but missed goal. The second half was a battle for keeps, no scoring Iwing made until one minute bclore time was called, when M. V. C.

rushed the ball over Kemper's line. Again they missed goal, leaving the home team one point to the good. Line-up: KftnixT M. Hiiillh HlKlit ml T. TiickiT W.
