The Editorial Convention, "Which was held at this place last Tuesday 14th, proved tcbe i more interesting gath ering than was anticipated by the fraterni ty. There wero 2S delegates in attend ance, representing 23 papers. Tho ad dress, by Dr. Ellis, of Goshen, was the finest we ever listened to. It was replete with good, wholesome, practical truths, which the craft would do well to take heed unto.

The volunteer speeches were ex cellent, and the ditto. The free dinner at tho Edwr.rds House was creditable to the energy And liberality of the host, and wa3 undoubtedly the best table ever set in town. Thoso who attended the dance speak of it in the most flattering- terms. This, as the first convention of the kind in Northern Indiana, ha been the means of forming an expensive acquaintance between the members of the editorial corps, which will certain be the means of cre atingand preserving fraternal feeling. To the Friends of Eugene Hutchinson (Deceased.) Perhaps it may not be in-appropiate at this time in behalf of the friends residing at tender my grateful acknowledgments for the numer ous and long continued friendship and sympathy, extended towards our brother during his afflictions connected with the protacted illness, and)the death of his wife. Also for the marked, and unwearied kind offices pei formed during his recent sickness, and burial. The large and universal attendance on tho performance of the last offices of tho deceased is indication of that univcisal s) mpathv which has ever charac terized his friendd in Plymouth; and shall ever bo held in irrateful remembrance. I would not rob the grave of its well earned laurels that I felt tempted to bear those evergreens departed, with the 'Furcicell faithful friend teacher by tho Supt. teachers, and Echolars, of the Sabbath School with which he was connected, to his distant friends as a token of their ap- appreciation of their departed Sabbath School Teacher.

I will let them remain where they belong, and be content with da-guerrotyping them upon the tablets of my mind, and bear them hence to'be copied indelibly upon the minds of his family where they will ever reiiain fresh and green and emit forth an aroma cr fragrance which shall ever remind us of the hih esteem in which our brother was bv his frieuds and associates in Plymouth. Xine years ago last October she, with her parents, emigrated to this State and settled near this place. Mrs. P. possessed many excellent traits of character, and her amiability of disposition won for her the high esteem of a large circla of friends. She was a member of the Independent Order of Good Templars, and at the time of her death was filling an important office, and in her death tha order has lost one of its brightest ornaments and best working me iibers.

A few days before her death she sent for the writer of this sketch, who at her request, administered the ordinance cf baptism, and placed her name on the church record; she at the same time expressing a willingness to either live or die. DEMOCRATIC COUNTY CONVENTION There will be a Democratic Count) Convention held at the Court-house in Plymouth on the 16th day of June, r.t 1 o'clock P. to nominate candidates for County Clerk, and Commis sioner. The Democrats iu the several Townships aro requested to meet in township Convention on the llth day of Juno not, to elect delegates to the County Convention.

This step is highly necessary, and is most earnestly urged upon the Democrats of every township, and it is hoped that no township will neglect it, and particularly that Democrats will not permit any others to meet and appoint for thera while they star at home. It has been thought that an apportiobment of dclgates based on the last Congressional vote, would be equal as it could be made and that ratio has been adopted. This will give each township delegates as follows: Union 21, Green 8, Bourbon 8, German 7, Polk North 6, Tippecanoe 5, -Wcsi G. Let every Democrat consider it his duty to attend the township meeting, and sec that delegates arc selected who will attend. Bv order of the Central Committee.
