McKenna City Registration Copied County Clerk Theodore Iewls and his corps of office deputies have completed the work making duplicate copies of all the city registration hooka except six precincts The uncompleted precincts are the West End Court House South Broadway Asylum Cemetery and the Southern Depot precincts The clerk of the cemetery precinct has failed to return to the County office the registration book for the precinct The law requires IV officers to deliver the registration books to the County Clerk within two days after the registration Is held Clerk Lewis desires the officers of Circuit Court yesterday afternoon the V1 off a portlon of right thumb in a fight which occurred be-'l tween the two on North Limestone street opposite Coyne Brothers saloon the first evening of salutation turned and struck him a stunning blow on the back of the head Mr Tudor said he seized Mr Laden by the throat but that his assailant with' both hands released hand and thrust tfhe right thumb in his mouth Laden when put on the stand denied that he thrust thumb in his mouth but said Tudor had his fingers clinched on his cheek when he bit the thumb The defendant said he met Mr Tudor not observing that it was he and turned to one side when Tudor turned to the same side He said he turned to the other side when Tudor also turned and the two clinched Nick Ingles testified that Van Laden Jokingly told him the next morning that Tudor "seized the opportunity once and thrashed him and tbat he got even with Tudor for Judge Parker overruled Attorney motion for peremptory instructions Half interest in hay bailer $5 Total $100830 STATE STUDENTS HOLD BID FOOTBALL RALLY Enthusiastic Talks Made By Members of Faculty and Others The biggest and most enthusiastic football rally of many seasons was held by the State University students In tho university chapel yesterday morning preparatory to the State-North Carolina game today The chapel was overflowing with students and the great enthusiasm prevailed throughout the meeting Virgil Moore a senior of the law school made a good talk relative to team and teams that will meet State which was extremely forceful Other talks were made by members of the faculty and other students Friday afternoon the student body attended the football practice on the athletic field and practiced on the college yells that will be used today Again last night the students met in the Gymnasium building and an enthusiastic rally was held which was attended by the young ladies of Pal terson Hall This morning the male students of the university will form a parade and headed by the cadet band will maren from the university down South Limestone to Main street and thence to all of the other colleges in town and hack down town and out to the
