Tbe tank fed a distance of thirty feet. Engineer Schneider, who was in the engine house pumping water, was bsdly hurt but stood at his post, bravely opening the valves, shutting off the steam and drawing the tires. He is badly cut about the head. The city jail was demolished and the boiler house at the water works wrecked. The loss is several thousand dollars.
