Decatur HeralD review Saturday, September 5, 2020 C3 1 OBITUARIES Vivian Lucille Myers JUNE 3, 1924-AUG. 28, 2020 DECATUR Vivian Lu- cille Myers, 96, of Decatur, Illinois passed away August 28, 2020. Vivian was born June 3, 1924, the youngest child of Roy Lois Harper. She married Russell D. Myers on Oct.

14, 1945. She was a member of Peoples Church of God for 44 years, where she was active in group, helped with church and served as the church librarian. She now attends First Free Will Baptist Church. She worked as bookkeeper at Metropolitan In- surance, Market, Bob Donnelly Automotive and the State of Illinois unemployment office. Out of love for her children she was active in school PTA, Brownies, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts.

She enjoyed yard work and flowers, square dancing and camping. In her later years she enjoyed putting together puzzles and tending to the garden at Eagle Ridge Assisted Living. But most of all she loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends. She is survived by daughter Jackie Kwasny of Bloomington, Illinois and son Steve Myers, of Dalton City, Illinois. Also survived by three grandchil- dren, Lance Kwasny of Bloomington Amanda Briggs and Julie Jones all of Decatur, six great grandchildren and three great-great grandchil- dren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Russ, three sisters; Mildred Fulk, Wanda Scrimpsher and Juanita Foreman, one brother, J.D. Harper, several nieces and nephews, brother and sister in-laws, and many, many friends. The family is very grateful to the staff at Harbor Light Hospice, Fair Havens Senior Living, Eagle Ridge As- sisted Living, and the SIU Illinois University medical staff for the concern and care they provided to our mother. She was a loving wife and mother, a caring friend to many, and will be greatly missed. Vivian has gone to be at peace in the arms of her Lord and Savior where she awaits to once again be reunited with all who believe.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, September 4, 2020 at Graceland Cemetery in Decatur with Pastor Stephen Cantrell officiating. 23, 2020 MAROA Sue Rogers 83 of Maroa, Illinois passed away 11:08 p.m. August 23, 2020 at Manor Court, Clin- ton, Illinois. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Sep- tember 12, 2020 at Maroa Cemetery, Maroa, Illinois with Pastor Joshua Smith officiating. There will be no visitation. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be di- rected to the John and Sue Rogers Memorial Scholarship at Richland Community College Foundation. Sue was born July 31, 1937 in Decatur, Illinois the daughter of Creed and Euleta (Creek) Jackson. She mar- ried John R. Rogers April 15, 1956 in Maroa, Illinois. He passed away May 30, 2004.

Survivors include her children, Leesa (Bob) Hagen, Belleville, Illinois; Tom (Becky) Rogers, Clinton, Illinois; Suzie Rogers, Bloomington, Illinois; two grandchil- dren, Andrew Hagen, Sugar Hill, GA and Hollee Hagen, Denver, CO; two siblings, Judi (Michael) Payne, The Villages, Florida and Steve (Kathy) Jackson, Warrens- burg, Illinois; and brother-in-law, Jerry Hoffman, Blue Mound, Illinois; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Shirley Hagar and Charlotte Hoffman. Sue was a farm wife, a bank teller in Maroa, a 4-H leader and judge, and a realtor with Lyle Campbell and Sons. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and volunteered at Richland Community College Horticul- ture Department. Sue moved to The Villages, Florida, for the weather and company, but her heart was back home with her kids, and at the family farmstead.

Kathleen Marie Dubbelde FEB. 2, 1931-SEPT. 20, 2020 DECATUR Kathleen Marie Dubbelde, 89, of Be- thalto, Illinois, passed away peacefully the morning of September 2, 2020 at Im- boden Creek Living Center, Decatur, Illinois. Kathy was born in Prairi- etown, Illinois on February 2, 1931, she married Victor Dubbelde on June 6, 1954 at Zion Lutheran Church in Bunker Hill, Illinois.

Sur- viving are her son Jim Dub- belde and his wife Cheryl of Decatur Illinois, daughter-in-law Teresa Dubbelde of Mt. Olive, and son-in-law Tom Brinkmann of St Louis. Her grandchildren are: Joshua Dubbelde of Decatur, Ja- mie (Steve) Munda of Minooka, Nikki (Josh) Heltsley of Mt. Olive, Taylor (Justin) Bertolini of Staunton, Katie Brinkmann, and Grace Brinkmann of St. Louis.

Her great-grandchildren brought much joy to her and Alexander Dubbelde; Peter, Matthew, and Bridgit Munda; and Tucker Heltsley. She was preceded in death by her husband Victor, son Karl, and daughter Ann. Private services will be held at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto, with Pastor Wade Helmkamp officiating. Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be sent to the Disease Society, 3286 Ivanhoe St.

Louis, Missouri 63139. Online condolences and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com. Joseph Louis Qualls APRIL 6, 1933-SEPT. 4, 2020 TAYLORVILLE Joseph Louis Qualls, 87 of Taylor- ville, died September 4, 2020 at 2:33 a.m. at St.

Hospital in Decatur. Joe was born April 6, 1933 in De- catur, to Albert and Bessie (Jackson) Qualls. He served in the Army in the Korean Conflict. Joe married Phyllis Russell in on August 28, 1954, and she preceded him in 2004. He later married Sheila Mediar and she preceded him in 2011.

Joe worked as a laborer and was a mem- ber of Central Laborers Local 159, a lifelong member of Stonington American Legion Post 257 and Taylorville VFW Post 4495. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Joe is survived by his son, Everett (wife, Jenny) Qualls of Williamsville; three grandchildren: Levi Qualls and Storm Qualls, both of South Dakota, and Meghan Qualls of Argenta; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, two brothers, and three sisters. Joe will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held at his home Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.

Larry was born July 7, 1941, in Decatur, the son of Ernest M. and Mildred O.

(Bocock) Durnil Jr. A mem- ber of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Larry worked at Caterpillar before retir- ing. He loved antiquing, and nostalgia and looked forward to the monthly cousin night. Larry married Linda K. Lynn on September 19, 1964 in Decatur, Illinois.

Surviving is his wife of nearly 56 years, Linda of De- catur; children: Brian (Laura) Durnil of Florida, and Jolene (Gary) Lugar of Minnesota; grandchildren: Brit- tany (Evan) Winegarner, Carly Durnil, Brynn Lugar, and Kelsey Lugar; great-grandson Brecken Winegarner; sister, Julie (Brad) Deal of Springfield. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 6, 2020, at Funeral Home with graveside services to follow in Graceland Cemetery. Mary Lou Phipps DIED SEPT. 2, 2020 DECATUR In the late evening hours of Wednes- day, September 2, 2020, Mary Lou Phipps took the hand of Jesus and went home to be with the Lord. She passed away at the age of 93 in the home of her daughter, Penny, sur- rounded by her daughters, several granddaughters, one great-granddaughter and countless other family members present remotely.
