Yarbrough had decided that it was time to move on He explains that the excitement of performing with a group was beginning to wane He was bored with folk music tired of traveling and itching to see if he could make it as a single And make it he has THE CHICO ENTERPRISE-RECORD OCTOBER 17 IQl Glenn Yarbrough major solo voice with the Limeliters for five years and comic Bill Cosby will appear in concert at 8:15 pm Wednesday Oct 28 in the Chico State College North Gymnasium The show is being sponsored by the Associated Students of Chico State Possessing a lyric tenor voice of startling clarity and warmth Yarbrough has set out to fill a long-vacant niche in the entertainment world He is an original a singer who is more concerned with a beautiful melody and the lyric content of a song than with the latest beat And yet Yarbrough's treatment of a song can be as hip and bright as tomorrow morning Yarbrough traces the beginning of his singing career to the tender age of eight when he sang are microwaved to the KHSL transmitter house at Cohasset where they are intermixed with Channel 6 telecast for microwaving to the transmitter on a ridge above the old town of Shasta west of Redding where the complete service is telecast over Channel 9 with the cooperation of KRCR-TV Channel 7 Redding Chico new microwave facilities also make it possible to originate in its studios live programs for Channel 9 which will be done when KIXE begins its evening schedule The corporation responsible for the existence of KIXE was set up 12 years ago by Dr Glenn Kendall president of Chico State and a
